In one of the deepest drafts in memory the Pats have traded away a 1st, 3rd, 4th and downgraded their 2nd. You can't knock the rings but maybe the Pats (who haven't drafted as well as people think they do) have decided to minimize their opportunities to make mistakes ha.
I dont think people realize this trade is almost identical to the infamous Roy Williams Trade, difference being NE gets a 4th back from NO whereas we got a 5th back from Detroit

Cooks is only 23 and is coming off back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons. He's under contract in 2017 and has a 5th year team option in 2018.

If you are going to burn draft picks on a player, this is the kind of guy you do it for, holy crap.

Side note, Brady had the best passer rating in the league on go routes in 2016, and that's when he was throwing to Chris "who?" Hogan as his main deep target. Cooks ran a 4.3 40. So... yeah.

Yeah, I'm shocked the Saints let him go for that price. If he had 1 year left and was on the road out of town regardless of how well he played, maybe I could see it. Guy has a lot of football left and with up to 3 years left on his deal it's a home run of a trade.

Dallas traded #20, #82, and #192 for Williams and #210 (7th, not 5th).

NE traded #32 and #103 for Cooks and #118.

given I was under 10, no and now given we cannot get out of the divisional round, forgive me if I don't worry about a team we might play in the SB. If we get to the SB, I will be ecstatic regardless of outcome

no you won't, multiply not getting out of the divisional round by a billion and you get what it feels like to lose a Super Bowl.
