Then again, they’ve shown a willingness recently to cut their losses and move on from bad deals. Jaylon, Zeke, etc.

I could see MG back for one more year because a restructure would provide more immediate cap relief than a release, but that’s probably it.

watching Detroit right now just reinforces what I've been saying for years....we do NOT have enough depth at WR to go deep in the playoffs...especially with no running game. We have ZERO shot in SF with only CeeDee and a Cooks who is always iffy.

Cooper being released was about him refusing to get the vax and missing games because of the virus.
That's speculation on my part.
But , I think I read somewhere Jerry was upset about the above.
Sure his contract played a part in the decision as well.

My own speculation is it went beyond just the vax shot controversy.
- Amari being benched in final drive vs Philly for the NFC East title
- Cooper disappearing in several games,
- and struggling vs the better, more elite CBs especially considering his size of his contract.

Gallup is such a massive disappointment. I supported keeping him over Amari and it just looks colossally dumb now.

It sure looks like Cooks has taken over the #2 WR spot. Gallup is rarely used at all, they go to the TEs more. Is Gallup 100% and is Cooks just the better all around WR. Gallup got that huge contract and was great as a down the field threat, it would be nice to work him into the gameplan more.

cooks is a top 12 receiver. dak misses him for a td every week. imagine if dak connects on deep balls. he'd have way more yards.
