It sure looks like Cooks has taken over the #2 WR spot. Gallup is rarely used at all, they go to the TEs more. Is Gallup 100% and is Cooks just the better all around WR. Gallup got that huge contract and was great as a down the field threat, it would be nice to work him into the gameplan more.
Agent?

The only reason gallup sees the field is because of his salary! No other explanation
That and Jerry always wants to look smarter than all other GMs so he pays and plays his draft picks, even when they don’t deserve it.

When people bring this up I always combat it with if Dak and Lamb or Micah didn’t get the vax would they have been cut? Hell no. That’s why I can’t buy that story. It’s like when people said we cut Poe because of him kneeling. It’s just not a convenient story.
Some of it did seem personal though. Not getting the vax and not appearing to be a "team player" pissed Jerry off.

They also looked at Gallup and thought he was younger and had an 1100 yd season under his belt. They had to choose between the two and factored in everything imo.

Obviously I'm just speculating but we did hear rumbles of their disapproval.

The cap number looked immediately better when FA wrs started to sign. We also could have extended him like Cleveland did. It was just stupid management.

Im glad you can admit that. I honestly never understood where ppl with that stance were coming from.
A lot of us felt that way bc Cooper disappeared in many games as well.

Obviously we were wrong though lol Cooper is a stud

I agree with you I’m just saying it’s not one thing. I don’t see Jerry cutting Amari over the vax. Mind you I’m not even entirely sure if he’s the one who did it because Amari made Jerry look good. He traded a 1st for Amari. So I do wonder was it Jerry and if it was for him to cut him after making him look smart? Something really irked him.

Yeah they really soured on him and it never made sense to me. From a front office standpoint I can at least understand them choosing between him and Gallup and thinking Gallup is younger and cheaper. Unfortunately Gallup just isn't what they expected him to be. I defended Gallup too, I was wrong. Crazy thing is you're right Cooper did look smart. He saved our season the year they traded for him.

I mean they deserve to be knocked for how they handled it from the compensation to the Gallup contract. I didn’t know Gallup would never return to form. He’s mentally not the same guy he’s said as much.

It appears as though Gallup's injury was more serious than expected to the degree that it has limited his physical abilities. I hope he can get back to being the r1000 yard receiver he was prior to his injury.

I like MG but he is going to be gone soon. No way we can keep paying him for the production he has shown.

And those are two key things. Lamb was never going to be Lamb with Amari here. Aj Brown is why Devonta Smith will always be what he is until Brown is gone.
Oh no, they better get rid of AJ Brown fast then.

See how goofy that sounds? It’s the same thing with getting rid of Amari. You can’t make a team better by making it worse.

Well for one AJ and Cooper are not the same circumstances. Aj Brown is a top 5 receiver. That ain’t AJ. I also don’t think Devonta’s ceiling is better than AJ’s. Different circumstances.

And the Cowboys have not been proven to be worse. They did nothing with Amari and are doing nothing without him.

If Dak doesn't look at him, he isn't going to get the ball! After the 1st Philly game when so much was made of B. Cooks being open on several plays and especially on the last play that could have won us the game, Dak has been far more cognizant of looking towards Cooks! Part of the problem is that Dak isn't a quick reader of defenses, he also takes a little longer than some to get rid of the ball and by the time he gets to his 3rd option, it's too late. I would like to see them mix in some plays early on in the game designed as Gallup being the #1 read. It would then help open things up even more for Cooks and CD!
Come on. There's a reason Gallup isn't a #1 read - he can't get open.

The INT against the 49ers was because Gallup can't win a route. It was a 1-read play designed to him against man coverage. His snap counts plummeted almost immediately, because he has no juice.

Acting like MG13 not being involved is a flaw with Dak is dumb.

You guys keep doing mental gymnastics to try to spin some kind of weak addition by subtraction argument, meanwhile Amari is going to be starting for the AFC in the Pro Bowl.

I mean, the reality clearly speaks for itself. We don’t have to keep doing this.
