That happens pretty frequently, our second string guys go on to be starters. Brown wasn't even given a chance in Dallas. Brown had a few big games for the Texans but then hurt his knee.
You're joking right what do you mean Noah brown wasn't given the chance he was actually the number two wide receiver here for about six weeks before Gallup came back after game five or six he literally was given a chance and had two plays where balls bounced off his hands and the matter of fact he lost that game I believe it was in Jacksonville and overtime because he couldn't catch a football he was not a number two he's a #4 playing like a #2... He was given every bit the chance and amari Cooper needed the lead because of money but the person we probably missed the most that year in 2022 while we were waiting on gallop to come back and leaned on brown with Cedric Wilson said Wilson was the guy we should have kept...

But like most people said hindsight 's 2020 but no way no shape or form was no brown disrespect and not giving a shot here just because they had a couple big games with the Texans doesn't mean anything and before he hurt his knee he was still inconsistent as he always has been and that's why he's a number four he plays like a #3 sometimes but he'll never be a number 2 cooks is a #2 in his prime cooks was an actual number one and gallop in his prime was always gonna be a number two but he's no longer in his prime anymore either... That's the most insane take I've ever seen on Noah brown I'm sorry but Noah brown and Dalton Schultz were very average players that could play very well sometimes but we're inconsistent and it was time for them to leave...

I believe tolbert will probably be the next brown he's working on it... By the way when I see other players with big numbers after they leave here in our own fans go oh we should have kept that guy you might want to look at their entire season...

You guys keep doing mental gymnastics to try to spin some kind of weak addition by subtraction argument, meanwhile Amari is going to be starting for the AFC in the Pro Bowl.

I mean, the reality clearly speaks for itself. We don’t have to keep doing this.
There’s no mental gymnastics.. you said we got worse…where? Record? Stats? Amari is a Pro Bowler. We replaced Lamb with him. I get it…..this is what you guys do. Rue over ex Cowboys. But the facts are we haven’t done anything now that we didn’t do with him except Lamb is breaking record.

Then what’s even the point of building a roster? This argument doesn’t make any sense.

They should have kept Noah Brown. At least he can block in the running game and he has had some big games for the Texans.

Now y’all want Noah Brown back who fans wanted out of here for years lol. Unbelievable……

2023 33 catches 567 and 2 TDs
2022 43 catches 555 and 3 TDs

Exactly I can't see what the other guy saying cause I have him on ignore but getting rid of amari Cooper was mostly about money not talent and secondly it was about CD lamb growing up into the number one position on a smaller contract literally cannot have amari Cooper making $22 million to be the other guy he couldn't be a number two he needed to be where he could be a number one I mean I don't think these people realize it but I bet if you added up our entire starting receiving core our top four guys I bet they barely had up to $25 million cap hit this year literally amari Cooper was upset to make $22 million most of it all guaranteed if he had been here longer it's why you had to rush and get a fifth for him they said we only got a cup of coffee for the guy and then Jerry got robbed that's not even true that is why we got Gilmore in Cooks, same types of players they have older players that are impactful that other teams needed to get rid of..

If some of these delusional fans need a clue here's one how can Hopkins and dalvin cook be let go for nothing?? I mean why couldn't they get a fifth??? I mean who robbed? who I mean if getting a 5th is being robbed it is just a cup of coffee well then why is Hopkins and cook being let go without anything nobody even gave them a single thing and that's what would have happened because they were going to cut Cooper to save them money that would have been guaranteed and let him go for nothing... so getting something is something, it's not getting robbed and I believe we turned that 5th possibly wasn't that Deron bland??

Fans want to create drama and new narratives trying to cut down Jerry at the knees at every move or non move everyday it's we like our guys we keep our guys too long we get ripped off in trades blah blah blah none of it's true you gotta look at the situations, they are all different.

They aren't they have like old player watch alerts,

so anytime someone pops up on the stat sheet and has a good game they start cussing out Jerry ruing the day we let those guys go.. You remember all the Mike white posts around here I mean that was precious he has a couple good games and all of a sudden the Cowboys were idiots and then what he gets benched and then cut that is why this place is just unbelievably entertaining and not in a good way it's like watching a bad movie for $12 like you feel ripped off when you leave the theater...lol

Cooks and Gallup together literally cost more than Amari did despite being half as effective.

Even the money argument is just straight up stupid, lol

Im glad you can admit that. I honestly never understood where ppl with that stance were coming from.
I can see it if you are getting 2019 Gallup. You are getting a quality #2, and not paying your number #2 top tier money. But when it went down, it was likely we were never going to get 2019 Gallup ever again

You basically said it doesn’t matter if we have more than one good receiver because we never won anything when we did. If you believe that, fine, but I don’t agree.
I never said that at all lol. I asked you what did we win with Amari as his 22 million dollar salary? They have Cooks at a fraction of the price. You can get receivers and they be good lol.

It sure looks like Cooks has taken over the #2 WR spot. Gallup is rarely used at all, they go to the TEs more. Is Gallup 100% and is Cooks just the better all around WR. Gallup got that huge contract and was great as a down the field threat, it would be nice to work him into the gameplan more.
It’s a 2 read and check down offense. Ferguson has by far been that 2nd read. I think they determined Gallup could be the first option if something happened to Lamb in the Patriots game when they targeted him for 90 yards and have used him sparingly since!

Brown has played only 10 games for the Texans, but let's compare him to Gallup.

Brown CAP = ~$2.8 million
Gallup CAP = ~$6.7 million

Games
Brown 10
Gallup 13

Targets
Brown 55
Gallup 55

Receptions
Brown 33
Gallup 34

Receiving Yards
Brown 567
Gallup 418

Yard per Reception
Brown 17.2
Gallup 12.3

Neither has a TD.

The fact is the Texans got more bang for the buck out of Brown. And remember, Gallup has Dak throwing to him, Brown has a rookie just learning the ropes. But the key point for me is, Brown as a good blocker in the running game. The Cowboys need that desperately.

They both suck. We need an upgrade at WR2. We need a big fast field verticle guy to compliment not only Cee Dee but the run game as well.

Gallup blocks great in the passing game. Let’s make no mistake Gallup is struggling and Noah Brown I’d playing well for a 3rd or 4th receiver but nothing is want back lol.

Really? Where were they last year? Where were they for the first half of the season? You keep talking about how we’ve never won anything with them. Don’t you think there may be a pattern here?

I didn't read the entire thread, but in the first two pages people were saying Gallup need to restructure his contract. Well he already did, way back in March.

The Dallas Cowboys are again making moves to create operating room under the salary cap as the team restructured the contract of wide receiver Michael Gallup, according to ESPN. The move saves Dallas roughly $7 million against its books, dropping Gallup's cap hit from just over $13.8 million to around $6.4 million, according to OverTheCap.com.
