Well Murray was there too along with Ware, so.....lol? And honestly, if players get butt-hurt because the franchise QB and gets special treatment, then really, who freakin' cares. That's their problem.ARLINGTON(105.3 THE FAN) — Tony Romo attended Monday night’s National Championship game at AT&T Stadium. So did Jason Witten and Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.
But former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marcus Spears is asking the question: Was anyone else invited?
Spears took to Twitter on Monday night, saying that Romo and Witten’s presence with Jerry Jones and former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton sends the wrong message.

You could pretty much caption this "Family Portrait."
Or "Rewards without Achievement."

Never thought I'd see this outside of Neogaf. loltremendous L for Spears.
Also, why is nobody considering that faces of the team like Tony, Witten, and Murray may very well be "obligated" to show up at major events like this? It's 2014...being a face of the team extends past the playing field now.
Seen on twitter that Ware was there, too... No pic to verify tho.
This thread gets even more comical..

I don't worry about Garrett now. He's not going anywhere.
Is it really an obligation to rub elbows with HOF players and former world leaders? I'd be in that piece so fast, they wouldn't even get to finish the invite. lol
Being some of the most productive players in franchise history isn't an achievement? You have to try harder than that.
That's the unrealized truth of it all. Garrett will be here in 10 years most likely. Jerry has absolutely no desire to fire him regardless of results.
I would be surprised if there wasn't obligations to be be seen or present at major events related to the team. Or maybe there aren't. Who knows. Either way, how some people could be bothered by this is mind boggling.

You don't need to be so defensive of Tony. I love him, too. I've always been of the opinion that while he may not be perfect, we're very lucky to have him and we're going to be in a world of hurt when he's gone. My "achievement" quote was more about what the team has not achieved, even if it isn't Romo or Witten's fault.
I just don't like the look of this. Sometimes appearances do matter. It's kind of like Cabo -- even if it doesn't make any real difference to the players involved, if your teammates might think it does, then it does.
My problem here is more with Jerry. This just has the appearance of the blessed ones being in Jerry's royal court. Or that they're made men -- that they're better than the rest of the team. How about not getting so chummy with any of your players, at least until they've won a Superbowl or two? But that's just Jerry's MO. Buddying up to the players is one of his main loves in life. Look how much joy he got out of getting that scumbag Pacman reinstated.
