I'm still not getting why he wouldn't have his franchise QB and other faces of the franchise in there with him. It doesn't necessarily make them royalty, but they obviously aren't going to be treated like most of the rest of the team either. This is the same for probably most teams in any sport.

Also I think people are missing the common sense element of this. ESPN broadcasts for half an hour every time Josh Brent coughs and you are hosting not one, but two former Presidents. Do you have a room full of veterans who are used to the media fishbowl or young guys that are a year removed from Frat Parties at San Diego State and South Carolina?

Another thing to remember is that Witten and especially Romo are super rich. This is the crowd people like them are used to being in (though I admit two Presidents is rarified air for anyone). You can give B.W. Webb a free ticket, but that doesn't mean he fits in. It also doesn't mean he would even want to be there. It's not his world.

I think Spears makes a fair observation but there really isn't anything there to me. Half of the team is probably vacationing in their precious off-season and the other half probably don't care about college basketball. Underachieving goof-offs like Claiborne and Carter should look at an undrafted nobody like Romo rubbing elbows with presidents and use it as motivation, not be handed a free ticket. But I'm sure even they would get hooked up by Jerry, albeit with nosebleed Jerry World end zone specials where the players look like ants. :)

When I look at the bonds, legitimate bonds, that players like Irvin, Aikman, Smith, Johnston and others shared with each other back on those teams and then compare that to Witten and Romo, it just does not appear to be the same. There seems to be a little less of a wide reaching clique.

It is far more exclusive. I said it then, the Owens/Crayton/keeping it real Wednesday thing was a product of what may have been perceived as favoritism between Garrett towards Romo/Witten.

Very true, and when a new "talent" comes on board they don't seem to be getting indoctrinated (Dez, Murray) with the core as much as one would hope.

Obviously they have struggled with the secret handshake and do not want to participate in the blood rites.

Aikman did not hang out with Michael. In fact, I don't even think Emmitt did very much. They had mutual admiration, but they were not off field chums.

Also, those three all came in at about the same time.
Witten and Romo are relative old men compared to the newbies...though Romo does hang out with Dez some in a more family setting.

Yeah Aikman and Irvin were polar opposites off the field. The only thing they particularly liked about each other was their work ethic and putting in the extra effort to be great. Emmitt was actually quite lazy and was much more of a natural in comparison. I like that Tony's allowing Dez to be part of his life considering how much he looks up to him and looks to him for direction, etc. In a way, its like getting mad at the older brother for not taking his little bro under his wing. TO was TO but I believe this is where he really felt crossed by TR in the long run. He never got into that circle despite how bad he wanted to be "let in".

I just don't get why Jerry always has to have his face seen whenever there is a sporting event at the stadium. He had to have a meet and greet with all of the coaches who were there before the games. I remember when the Nba had the Allstar game there a few years ago and Jerry was being interviewed by Tnt while Mark Cuban is standing behind Jerry listening like he's Jerry's son or something.

I'm saying to myself why doesn't Jerry let Mark Cuban have his weekend and the spotlight to himself. I mean this is a NBA Allstar event why in the hell is Jerry doing all the talking?

Strike out. At least you went down swinging. I respect that.

The only strikes have been on your nerves. You won't have to worry about anymore Jason Garrett jokes after the 2014 season unless his next coaching job is in a pee wee league.

I don't worry about Garrett now. He's not going anywhere.
