Why can't it just be that JJ distributed some tickets to the Cowboys current captains and previous Cowboys' leaders and they are having a great time? Seems like a pretty cool thing to do on JJ's part.

You're not worrying "now" but you will be after the 2014 season if the Cowboys miss the playoffs for a 5th straight year and suffer through yet another mediocre season or do you not consider what we've been seeing under Garrett as mediocre?
No sir, I am not. I don't have the tea leaves you have, nor the turban, nor a crystal ball. I don't see the future.

I just see a football team being built the way I want, and I do the math on what I firmly believe is coming.

@mspear96 just to left was Demarco and Irvin. Emmitt and Demarcus (yes even after he signed with Denver )..

Boom goes the dynamite.

Why did she feel the need to include all of the black athletes that were in the suite? Marcus Spears never made it a race issue, he just said other guys on the team. Maybe Cole Beasley or Jeff Heath would've liked a invite too. He was more talking about certain guys getting superstar treatment. Spears was not even talking about Emmitt or Michael. I took it as he was talking about the grunt guys not feeling they were worthy of sitting amongst the stars.

Well Murray was there too along with Ware, so.....lol? And honestly, if players get butt-hurt because the franchise QB and gets special treatment, then really, who freakin' cares. That's their problem.

I think this would not be a issue if Quincy Carter would've got star treatment when he was the starter.

Or she could be pointing out the other people/players who were also in the suite...who just happened to be black. I'm pretty sure if Sean Lee was there, she'd have mentioned him, as well.

The issue as I see it, is that Spears is only a couple years removed from the team and he's projecting his own personal feelings about things, which is fine if that's how he feels. But now that he's in the media, he's going to need to start walking a fine line. His opinions on all things sports will matter to alot more people than the people at his local fishing watering hole.

I think this is typical of any team in this situation. Jerry, who let's face it, I'm not a fan of, is marketing his brand and the Cowboys brand, so I see no problem with him including some of the Cowboy star players in this type of situation. Other teams have and will do this. You see TV networks do the same thing during big games, showing stars of whatever series they are trying to promote.

I also get what Marcus Spears is saying. He wondered out loud (via Twitter) if other teammates where invited/included. It does appear like there is an era of favoritism/special treatment for the same players. I don't buy the Triplets comparison since they were proven champions and deserve a lifetime of special treatment,

This didn't really bother me and as usual, people are taking sides and cherry picking.

I will say I wish we had a GM who was less worried about marketing and more worried about improving the roster. I'm not talking about titles, I'm talking about the role Jerry has put himself in. If he wants to be a "football guy" he needs to lessen his celebrity role and put in the work. Meanwhile, this once amazing franchise suffers and people make excuses. I want this team to be great again. As much or more than any other poster who puts their chest out and belittles anyone who disagrees with their opinion. I just don't pretend that Jerry's this unlucky guy for 18 years and he is in fact, the problem. I realize that's not changing anytime soon but I won't pretend it's not the reason for this team's mediocrity.

I don't know. I never looked at a single player as Black or White. To me she merely mentioned other players not in the limited shot of the entire suite, and they happen to be Black. My reaction to that is so what? I'm not shocked that Ware was there even though he's not even on the team. The Cowboys do not see Black and White. Nor do I.

If I was a player and didn't get an invite, it wouldn't bother me. I just don't care for this kinda thing. As a fan, I wouldn't care to go either, but I understand Spear's point. This kinda thing is important to some people and I am sure that some of the players would have liked an invite to hang out with Jerry and his crew. Some players want to be the owner and coaches favorite. It happens at all levels of sports.

With some of the off the mark predictions you've made one would think you're using tea leaves, a turban and a crystal ball. lol You see this football team being built from a FANS point of view. I don't see how anyone can be encouraged by the defense it's worse now than at the end of last season. Good luck replacing the 17 sacks Ware and Hatcher provided in 2013. Even a less than 100% Demarcus Ware had to be accounted for.

No pressure on the QB and opponents not having to account for Ware means the secondary is going to continue being toasted by even average QB's. Carr is due a lot of money after the 2014 season which means he won't be back based on his recent play and the Cowboys may be looking to replace Claiborne as well if the injury bug continues and his play doesn't improve. I don't see the defense being good anytime soon and time isn't on Garrett's side.

I interpreted Spears' comments alluding more to how the tight friendships between JG, Romo and Witten keep them untouchable in terms of ever taking the fall for failures. We've pretty much only experienced failure here under that regime, yet for some reason or another they always seem to be the guys that come out of the mess clean while everyone else gets thrown under the bus.

Would be hard for me to trust any of those 3 if I were in that locker room, and that's what Spears was saying.

For the last two offseasons Hostile has confidently said that Garrett wouldn't be fired and he has been correct. I wouldn't go against him on jg's coaching status.

Some people seem to be making this out to be like Little-Johnny not getting invited to the popular kid's birthday party and their moms need to call the other kid's mom and ask if he can get invited so he doesn't feel left out. This is entering some seriously pathetic territory. These are grown men getting paid millions. I can't imagine this being an issue to anyone.

Yes, that's really going out on a limb. Tell me that after another 8 and 8 season when Garrett's contract expires and missing the playoffs for the 4th straight season and you may be on to something.

Come on, there are many of these guys that are only a year or two out of school and some are just immature. I see quite a bit of childish behavior in sports.

The reason I said that was because after the 2012 season I wanted him fired for Payton but that didnt happen. Then after the third straight 8-8 season I thought he'd be fired but he's still here. Jerry really likes Garrett and is going to give him every chance to succeed because I think partly because jj is getting older and is more reluctant to start over and he hand picked him to be the head coach in 2007.

How many years have we heard our team chemistry and leadership is off... My eyes opened years ago to what's been going down inside our organization.

I also find it odd that the team gave its best effort of the year in week 17 with Orton under center, and I'm not talking about playoffs as the only thing at stake.
