Cooper move shows FO again reactive, not proactive

Preface by saying that I thought we overpaid by 1 round, but I did not hate the move. But it underlies the key weakness of this FO: it never gets out in front of positional weaknesses that we all see. Rather, it waits until the issue becomes critical to address it. In preseason, we all saw the weakness at WR as the Achilles heel of this team (as well as S and TE). Yet, the FO tried to sell the fan base on “Dak friendly” WRs and gimmicks like Austin. We all knew that was BS and that opponents would never fear stacking the box against this inferior group of WRs. And now the FO has admitted it with the Cooper move. But instead of being proactive and devoting a high draft pick/big free agent dollars to WR BEFORE the season, we did so when we are 3-4 and when the playoffs are very unlikely. Hopefully, we make a run so that the #1 pick we traded away is not top 10.
