Right. Justin Herbert has a career losing record in 34 starts. Guessing you wouldn’t want his empty stats on this team? Stats are not everything, but they’re definitely something. Rush hardly passes the stats or eyeball test.

You guys have this stodgy, 1950s view where the only thing that matters is wins. Any baseball fans here? Take the standings after 40 games. Run differential is a much better predictor of future record/playoff success than the actual win count itself. That’s the paradox going on with Rush right now. Don’t fall in love with the 3-0 record.
The Cowboys were #2 in the NFL in 2021 for scoring differential. Only Buffalo was better. It’s not nearly the predictor it is in MLB. Why? The sample size. Why not fall in love with a 3-0 record with a backup QB? That’s 3 up and 0 down for pennies on the dollar. Even claiming a paradox takes an adequate sample size for which we do not have for Rush. There’s so much wrong with your post.

Take a little issue with your, "against better QBs" statement. No QB is good when he's being mauled by an aggressive defense.

The only good QB we faced with Rush under center is Joe Burrow and he hasn’t been having a good year and neither has his team. No one is going to tell you that Daniel Jones is a good QB. He’s in a make or break season with the Giants. Don’t kid yourself our defense is going be tested in the coming weeks. Philly currently has the number one ranked offense. I’m still not convinced we can stop the run consistently. Tampa pounded us on the ground in the opener. Saquon Barkley made a big play against us the other night.

All your points are well taken. But, you must admit that, even the great ones don't "flourish" when they're uncomfortable back there. Now, whether or not we can continue to apply this pressure remains to be seen .

Pressure is a QBs worst enemy. Opponents will try and run the ball on us. That’s where we’ve been vulnerable. Tampa had over 150 rushing yards against us. We gave up some running plays to Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley.

This is what worries me also. Let's face one of the teams with a true rungame again and we will need more than 23 points to win it. Can Cooper provide that? You'll never stop 'em all but that scoring play by Barkley made us look really bad. The whole drive did.

Interesting weeks ahead.

With our pass rush everyone’s going to try and run the ball on us that’s where we’ve been vulnerable. Right now we’re only averaging 15 points a game which is half what we were averaging last year at this time. We can’t just keep hoping our defense will hold opponents to one or two TDs each week. That’s about all we’re scoring.
