Cooper Rush, it is the way.
I'm glad to see a lot of people with positive things to say about Coop. When I posted about him here previously, it's been quite some time, there was absolutely zero love for Cooper and I was run off the forums.
As a friend of Cooper Rush, I can say he is humbled and appreciates the support of Cowboy Nation more than anything else right now.
He's working hard for his teammates and each and every fan.
I’ve been around here a long time and I can’t remember anyone ever saying anything personal about Rush. We don’t know him, so at don’t know what kind of guy he is.
As far as his skills at QB, we only had two things on which to form an opinion of him:
1. His start against the Vikings. I think that was his best start statistically as a pro (could be wrong). He got the win, so no complaints.
2. What the coaches and other teams have decided about him as a professional QB. They seen him every day, so they know more about his skill set than we do.
Other than that, I’m grateful that our defense hasn’t required Rush to be a hero. He’s obviously a competent backup, but we just can’t seem to put a lot of points on the board with him at the helm. It’s not all on him, but I don’t think we’ve ever put up 28 with him at QB. That’s the magic number in the NFL for offensive production. Again, with our defense playing well, it hasn’t been necessary, but there will come a time when we’ll need to score more points. If he’s in the game, I hope he can swing it.
