Cooper Rush wasn't bad

This was a horrible state down read, but it was a trash play call and a comeback route directly into the teeth of the defense.

They ran 2 WRs, not even on the outside against cover 2. The Eagles had MULTIPLE defenders. That’s why it was easy pickings fir the high safety on that side when the DB hit it in the air.

The play action to Elliott in that same side was meant to have them bite, nobody on the defense bit.

There were zero options for Rush to go. As basic as it gets for the defense.

Like what option did Rush have here? ZERO..

I first thought Cooper Rush had a bad game, but upon closer examination, he held up pretty well. He was accurate and effective vs the Eagles.
His receivers, not so much. Two of Rush’s interceptions were accurately thrown passes in which the receivers had position, but allowed the defenders to swat them out of the way to make a play on the ball. This can't happen in the NFL.
The Cowboys sold the farm to pay an overpriced, inept quarterback a huge salary, and the result is having receivers who are not number 1 caliber.
I hate to say it, but Cee Dee Lamb isn't great. Noah Brown is as close to being a number one as the Cowboys have. CeeDee just doesn't have the physique to hold up in physical games. The Eagles got physical with the Cowboys receivers and won the battles one on one too often.
Add to this missed calls by the refs, and Rush held up better than first thought.
Rush’s third interception was due to him being hit. It would probably have been a touchdown, otherwise.
Hate on him if you like, but this season still has a ways to go. Dak isn't as accurate as Rush, and if last night is any clue, the receivers aren't going to be much help.
He was bad. He was late. He was behind on passess. He was late on reads..............

Next thing you know you'll start a thread titled crap on a stick may look bad, but it's actually delightful. If you really think Rush didn't have a bad game I don't know what else to say.

I'm thankful for how Rush has played in keeping the season alive, but yesterday wasn't his day.

Weren't you one of the ones who made posts about how Dak Supporters couldn't blame the WRs or any other players on the Cowboys, for bad games he has or for the losses the Cowboys have with him as the QB. Yet here you are blaming the WRs for Cooper Rush throwing 3 INTs and under thrown balls on what could have been a potential TD to Cee Dee Lamb? The double standards some have when it comes to disliking Dak, is mind boggling.

Bro what is wrong with you? SERIOUSLY! I stated in another thread earlier in the week that he has no velocity on his sideline throws, this allowing teams to not have to play the receivers tightly as CB’s can recover. And also because of his weak outs, his strength is the middle of the field and teams will tighten up in the middle, it’s all on film. His play last night was exactly that and the Eagirls defense played Rush exactly as I predicted, and I have absolutely no football coaching experience!

Also what happened to blaming Dak but not the Wr’s? And please note I am not a Dak apologist as I have concerns with his game also. I’m a Cowboys fan.

Cooper Rush is not the alleged franchise, top 5 QB that people have been yapping about Dak. His worshippers even had him above Josh Allen last year and many of them think Herbert and Dak are on the same level.

Can’t take their takes seriously as they are now taking joy in trying to justify Dak against Cooper Rush.

Welp, there's always the option of not throwing it, or throwing it away. The decision he made is possibly the worst one he could have made.

You are right.....he wasn't bad, he was horrible

By option I meant receiving option in respect to play design and play call. That play was as basic as it gets and it was a first in 10 and the Eagles ran a cover 2, meaning they were basically playing pass. That’s why I said at the very beginning it was a horrible read that he stared down.

No QB is making a pass in that context. It was at most a dead play from the beginning.

The only guarantee with the Cowboys is that there will always be an endless river of excuses for Dak.

But this thread was specifically made to make excuses for Cooper Rush and was an attempt to shift the blame to the WRs, like they were the ones who threw 3 INTs and underthrown balls.

Those "accurate" throws took too long to reach the receivers, giving the DBs time to get to them. Rush's arm is too weak.

If this had been Dak's performance, you would have raked him over the coals.
We've seen similar from Dak but instead of an int he gets sacked. The team has to punt and the defense is on the field again. Remember that 9 point game Dak had when Wentz had WRs off the street. I will say Dak does have a stronger arm but I would rate it one of the weaker among starting QBs.

Look at where the WRs line up including Lamb on the bottom. NEITHER him now Gallup are lined up wide, but closer to the line. Lamb looks like he’s running the same comeback route. The play design is straight into the cover 2 coverage.

Horrible give away play that had the worst possible outcome happen.

In that case you may want to reply to someone who is making excuses for Rush.
