If we lose him does WR jump to the top draft need?
Good question. I don't think anyone in the draft will replace Cooper in year 1. But is it really necessary to have a true #1? If you had Devin Smith, Michael Gallup on the outside and a real speed guy in the slot (Ruggs?), do they need a true #1? Or How about getting a TE who is a true downfield receiving threat? The Eagles managed to make it to the playoffs without any quality receivers other than their TEs./QUOTE]
A fast slot guy doesn't really matter without someone on the outside drawing a safety. Gallup isn't that guy and certainly Devin Smith isn't that guy.
If you go after Ruggs, its to compliment Cooper.
How is it a need? We have Cooper, Gallup and Zeke. Need? Thats ridiculous. A need is DT where we have Tristen Hill and thats it. Wr is a luxury at this point and nothing more.WR is a need anyway.
In no world will they immediately replace Cooper in the draft.
imo Cooper is more talented than any Wr in this class,it would be a huge waste not to sign him long term.
I was listening to Bugler this morning and he said the exact same thing about Lamb. I dont think we'd be able to pass on such talents!I actually like Cooper as a comp for Jeudy because of how great he is as a route runner and he’ll run in the 4.4s. It’s just easy separation.
Lamb gives me Hopkins vibes...I don’t think he’s as polished, but is ceiling is sky high.
I think both are legit, top 10 prospects.

I hope we can tag and trade him. Use the money to restructure this team to fit the new coaches, and the draft capital to do the same thing.
Cooper for a day two pick and have 16 or so million to add depth. Not re-signing Cooper, and cutting Crawford, Flemmings, Jones, and Olawale you have 30+ million to invest on bettering your overall team. Does that win us a SB next year no, but it gives us a great chance to do so the year after with 2 years of drafting and cap flexibility.
Re-sign Robert Quinn 2 year contract
Leonard Williams as your 3 tech.
Ha Ha Clinton Dix SS
Andrew Billings 1 tech
Add someone like Shaq Lawson or Emmanuel Ogbah for DE depth
Your defense got much better, and you can invest draft capital into WR, CB, TE and ultimately have BPA type draft.
B/c WR is more important than DT.How is it a need? We have Cooper, Gallup and Zeke. Need? Thats ridiculous. A need is DT where we have Tristen Hill and thats it. Wr is a luxury at this point and nothing more.
B/c WR is more important than DT.
Two WRs isn't a lot, considering they're in 3WR sets the majority of the time, and it's smart to assume that one will almost always be hurt. Plus, there's not a ton of speed in the group, they could use it.
The Chiefs just won the Super Bowl by building an offense that has a bunch of WRs and a bunch of speed. It should be every team's #1 priority because, when playing well, that offense is unstoppable.
Kelce is an elite TE b/c he's basically a WR. His blocking doesn't matter.I agree WR is important, but I think the Chiefs being so great on offense is more around having the best QB on the planet and an elite TE.
Hill is a stud, but he’s one of the very few speed WRs that is a #1
Hardman caught 4 balls for 40 yards in the last 3 playoff games.

Doesn't matter how many balls Hardman caught. The whole point is that they have so much speed you have to spread your defense vertically. Pay attention to Kelce in the middle, watch out for Hardman vertical, and vice versa. They all compliment each other. Dallas only has 1 guy who dictates coverage, and you don't really have to defend him over the top.
It was a waste anyway b/c that identity stopped being relevant more than a decade ago.I agree to an extent, but if using premium draft capital on a WR there needs to be a level of production. You can get a burner in rounds 2/3 that can just run fast and get safety attention.
We also took a RB in the top 5 so if we’re going to look to turn into this air raid offense that was an incredible waste. That’s supposed to be our identity but that’s a whole separate discussion.
And TENN just won two playoff games using it, and SF made the super bowl using. It was a waste anyway b/c that identity stopped being relevant more than a decade ago.
