I can't believe this. This stupid kid got a lawyer and is going to fight this. I just got a subpoena as a witness for the State.
More drama. Just what everbody always wants in their life. You did the right thing.

Hey Pep, get this. So it's after 9:00 am now and I called this guy's office. He's on vacation all this week and can't return the call until next week. But his letter says "at my convenience." I told his secretary that was offensive and that next week isn't convenient like this week is.

:D
Gotta love lawyers' hours... I know I do:D

He's probably gotta do a full background check on you before he meets you. I'm sure you don't have any skeletons in your closet though. But he's probably going to bring up that thing with you and Brain and the goats.;)

I got an amazing deal on 2 Winchesters.

One a 30-30, Model 94, pre-1964 edition so it has solid metal works. $200.00.

Looks like this. My all time favorite gun. It had a bit of rust but I worked on it for 4 hours and it looks almost new now.

The other is a .308, Model 88. If you haven't seen one you're missing out. The stock looks like a bolt action, but it is the smoothest lever action ever. $200.00 as well.

The .308 had a Bushnell zoom scope on it. It is supposed to be sighted to 1200 yards but it was really off. As I started trying to adjust it I noticed that the scope mounts did not match. One was round bottom and short. The other was flat bottom and taller. That meant the scope was pointed downward at a slight angle.

I looked it up on Midway and the correct scope for a model 88 is a one piece mount with a rounded bottom. Weaver #53. I found one on e-bay for 4 bucks.

This is almost exactly what my gun looks like with the Bushnell scope on it.

If you look closely you can see it is a clip load. The clip only holds 5 and one cannot be int he chamber. I am currently trying to find out if I can manufacture or buy a banana clip for a full load.

The previous owner had cancer and committed suicide and his wife just wanted the guns out of her house.

So, I got both guns for $400.00.

Score.

Nice Hos. Definite score and a bonus round. You're really getting in to this stuff aren't ya? I love hooded front sights on a carbine. I had to special order my 30-30 because I couldn't find the "rs" model that has no checkering work done. I like the smooth wood look. More western style. However, I like the placement of the checkered work on the .308. Right where you need them and not over done. Great find Hos.
I don't think I've seen a Winchester .308 in person.

BTW......they're both peices of junk. You need to send them to me, scopes included, and I'll dispose of them for ya. Free of charge, of course. :D

I'm not a fan of checkering either. I may do a custom stock from Boyd's.

Any of the last 6 stocks on this page are for the 88. There are 3 styles. I don't know early or standard yet. I haven't decided if I am going to do it so I haven't looked at the Serial.
