I'm sick and tired of Dan Quinn being catered, coddled and allowed to carry way too many players on Defense at each position, except Linebacker. Quinn's got 7 CBs. 7. Who needs so many CBs? It's overkill. Same goes for the DT position. 6 DTs. 6! Why so many? Why not 5 or 4 DTs? What's the matter Dan Quinn? I thought you are this big defensive football guru? Why so many players at certain Defensive positions that are taking away from other spots on the team from having a backup (Center position, LBs, TEs). Why does Dan Quinn keep being given favoritism at the behest of the rest of the team? It's going to come back and bite the team.
This is 2023; passing, passing, and more passing. Receivers, tight-ends, running backs, hybrids, and occasionally lineman, are all catching passes. What is your flavor?

I’ve have been saying lack of depth at corner most of the offseason as the backups failed when called upon last yr.
Bland played great as a rookie and backup and izzy played really well also.

Jlew makes one of the moat solid number 4s in the league.

A three year complete turn-around...you stated what?

He wasn’t as good outside for sure, but I think he’d be able to play out there in year two if he had to. His fundamentals are so good for a young guy from a smaller school. He’s just a really natural corner and I would trust him just about anywhere in the secondary, but I love the guy’s game.

But to your point, yeah, Bland is a natural in the slot, which is kind of unexpected for a longer CB to play so well inside. Usually the better slot defenders are kind of shorter like Lewis or Asante Samuel. But Bland is such a natural player and gets low on his breaks when he changes direction. It is just in his DNA. How does someone like that slip through the major college cracks?

We all knew we had something big in him in his first preseason game last year. He looked like a polished vet in game 1 of the PS. It is very unusual. Dallas got lucky big time.
We are talking about an entire defense in the way 'the wall' was referred to in 1991.

I explained myself clearly, precise and why. How can one leave the Center position, TEs and LBs without backups simply because one wants to overstock at CB, S and DT? Why does Jerry allow this?

As a rebutal, that is a silly direction after following roster for the past four months and games starting in days now. Really?

Three roster tight ends and a TE, LB, and a couple of linemen going on Practice Squad today...already trained and in the plans for the Cowboys...I guess the complete arrival of a complete defense just snuck right by someone's observation then.

I think Eric Scott is someone you want getting 5-10 snaps a game if possible and more if you have a healthy lead

He had a great start to camp and then PS game 1 just stunk, then was ok in PS game 2, and then made a couple really nice plays (including a beautiful 4th down PBU) in PS game 3.

The Cowboys would be wise to cultivate that growth. He has all the tools to be a Daron Bland 2.0 and plays with great technique and turns his head. He just needs reps for confidence.

Bland hasn't look good as an outside corner. Behind him and Lewis, we have nothing.

Silly and ridiculous is believing you need 7 CBs and 6 DTs to field a top 10 Defense. Talk about overkill at the expense of other key positions.

Lots of defensive linemen, lots of secondary in a passing league, and depth protects any loss other than Parsons. Not at all. Dak and McCarthy are on the table here and now. Approach through convenience. Players acquired match the style of defense in Dallas, here and now.

You still refuse to answer my question.

We have plenty of outside and inside corners. If any team has 3+ injuries at corner there's going to be drop off.

Show me better depth.

No, you stir the pot and don't attempt to see compliance to specific scheme needs...simple.
Specific scheme needs? So to hell with the other positions? Let's leave our Center, TE and LB positions without backups so we can have 3 deep at CB and DT? What kind of scheme is that?

Already been discussed and you play around without placing a target beyond a hypothetical made up category. End of discussion here...

I think CB depth is just fine…it’s going to be a moot point if the defense cannot stop the run as teams won’t need to pass the ball to beat Dallas.

End of discussion nothing. You refuse to explain yourself or answer why leave other positions without backups. You've got nothing other than to kiss the ring of this organization.

Both Bland/Muku have struggled in the preseason and Lewis is coming off of major injury. Muku had one good game against a bad TB offense.
