Coughlin Calls For NFL Response to Flozell

It has little to do with the physical contact that Adams made with Tuck. I don't think anyone is actually upset that Tuck toppled over for a second.

It's just the fact that this type of stuff is not needed in pro sports at all. If you have a score to settle, settle it on the field during gameplay. Sneaking up behind and guy and pushing him down is cowardly and completely out of line when everyone is going into the half.

Do I want him suspended, no. Do I think he gets suspended, yes.

Look beyond the push itself and see the action for what it was. Cowardly, unprofessional and a completely out of line act of frustration.

Can we at least agree that Adams did not hit Tuck in the back, but that he, in fact, shoved him in the back? Is that nitpicking? I mean, there have been plenty of players throughout the years who have sustained injuries after being hit in the back, but very, VERY seldom has anyone gotten hurt after being shoved in the back.

Shove, hit, all the same really.

I don't think it being a shove makes it any more undeserving of punishment than if he hit him.

Coughlin is a drama queen, just like his players.

What sux is that if he's suspended, then the 'boys will potentially have to go with Doug Free and McQ.

Scary thought there.

i think we'd see BIGG slide to LT, and holland taking his place.

unless they prefer to see free at LT, BIGG at RT and holland at RG.

Cowboys’ Adams could be fined for foul vs. Giants

Posted: December 8th, 2009 | Jason La Canfora | Tags: Dallas Cowboys, Flozell Adams

Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams is likely looking at a hefty fine, but not a suspension.

League officials had a spirited discourse on the matter, with some split on whether his shove of New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck warranted a suspension following his series of fines for other transgressions this season.

Ultimately, everything points to a forthcoming fine at this point.

Video clearly showed Adams shoving Tuck in the back at the end of the first half in New York’s 31-24 victory Sunday. There was then a small melee between players from both teams on the New York sideline, and Adams was given a personal foul penalty, though no yardage was marked off against Dallas at the start of the second half.

According to multiple sources, Flozell Adams will not be suspended by the NFL for his personal foul penalty Sunday against the New York Giants, however, he is likely to be fined for the fourth time this season.

He has already been fined $25,000 for infractions in the first three games this year: $5,000 unnecessary roughness vs. Tampa Bay, $12,500 for a trip and attempted trip vs. the New York Giants and $7,500 for kicking Carolina's Julius Peppers.

Another infraction could result in a suspension. Adams would stand to lose nearly $59,000, or 1/17th of his $1 million base salary, if he is forced to sit out a week.

On Sunday, Adams pushed Giants defensive end Justin Tuck in the back as he ran downfield after a missed 57-yard field goal attempt. Adams tripped Tuck in the first meeting between the teams, resulting in Tuck hurting his shoulder. After the most recent game Tuck called Adams a "dirtbag," for the push that nearly caused a melee as the teams went into the locker room at halftime.

I will take option B or C (option A is Flo not being suspended). Anything but option U. U is for ugly, not for McQuistan's looks, but for his game.

Fair enough. It's acknowledged and he's fined. One more stupid act and you've been warned.

.

Thank God!!! I just read this at the DMN website. I've been checking all day. His suspension would have crippled our OL and Romo.
SD's defense is really banged up. We're relatively healthy and at home. Romo has been great overall this season and I think our D will do just enough to win. If we win this Sunday, December takes on a whole new look. We've beaten the Eagles and Skins already. 10 or 11 wins are there for the taking and I think we do it this year.

the biggest match ups i fear are whoever is covering gates (probably GS) and whoever has to cover the swing passes to Sproles.

Agreed. But not ridiculous enough to get a suspension.

Again, not taken in isolation. But Adams was fined for tripping the same guy earlier in the year and explicitly warned by the league not to do it again.

By pushing Tuck in the back after the play was over he reinforced the perception that he's a bush league thug who can't win playing fair and galvanized the Giants on top of it.

If Dallas suspended Adams they'd send the right message to the rest of the team, but I don't expect that from a Jerry Jones/Wade Phillips leadership. They don't understand that teams need discipline and players must learn there are consequences for playing the wrong way.

Adams won't learn anything from it, he's too fat, happy, and paid-- but a dozen young players on the Cowboys certainly would.

Yeah, like I said, some will be disappointed with the news.

what I find unbelievable is that Tuck still won't shut the hell up

dude got literally thrown off his feet

he's oblivious and quite possibly demented
