Could a strong finish save McCarthy's job?

If McCarthy has this team in the playoff hunt in January then he will not only deserve a new contract he would also deserve coach of the year. This team is beat up, flawed and at times appear to be unmotivated. Yet they went into a division rival's house and took up residence on his couch, drank his beer, ate his food and probably banged his wife that night. If they do that to a few more playoff "contenders" then I will reverse course on my desire to see him gone. I put contenders in quotes because I never thought the Ratscums were really in play for the playoffs. I have stated all along that they would not win the division and that they were NOT better than the Cowboys despite their cute start. I fully expect them to trounce the Giants but the honeymoon probably ends right there. They got maybe two more wins waiting on the schedule and if they get those to finish 7-10 McCarthy is rightfully gone. If they win two more that they aren't supposed to win and go 9-8 then that changes things. We shall see.

Not saying this is happing but hypothetically if they did would you say he's redeemed himself from last years gut punch with Back up QB and mixed bag of starters most of them being out due to injury parts of the season.
No. In my opinion, he just can't coach up a team in critical situations. He too often makes awful decisions, his play calling is too often atrocious. And we approach playoffs like we are being punished for being there.
