Could a strong finish save McCarthy's job?

Because we don't know if he is really injured or not. If he is, why was he on the sideline in street clothes dodging players coming off the field like he was totally fine the next week after the 'serious injury'? Why then was he then seen on the sidelines on crutches when he supposedly just had major surgery and was supposed to be off his feet resting?

Teams have faked injuries throughout the entire history of the NFL. It's nothing new. I have no idea if Dak's 'injury' is fake or not and would never put money on it, but there are certainly many questions coming up about the timing.
Falsifying an injury will result in fines and a possible grievance filed by the NFLPA. It is a violation of a player’s contract, and could void it. No team with an owner as cheap as Jerry Jones would risk a fine. No player, particularly the highest paid one in NFL history, would risk his compensation faking an injury. Todd France would sue the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL, and the NFLPA on behalf of his client if anyone suggested Dak fake an injury. No bonafide medical professional would risk their reputation being party to such a scenario. Suggesting Dak is faking this injury is ridiculous even for this fan forum site.

ok your using logic again for a crowd that isnt interested in it....

So does Dak have a chicken for a doctor? You must be his doctor for you to be so certain he is really injured

What do you mean I’m “so certain he was injured”?

There ain’t anything to be “certain” about. He was injured, and received surgery to repair the injury.

Do you think the Cowboys, and Dak, and the NFL, and Prescott’s surgeon are all lying to us? Yeah right.

The injury specifically was a partial avulsion of the hamstring and it was repaired on Wednesday, November 15.

I’ll tell you what I’m certain of. This whole “Prescott faked his injury” thing you and others are pushing like some sort of strange conspiracy theorists is a load of horse ****. I’m certain of that.

I think the fact he’s not signed is gonna be his undoing.

If he had 1 more year I could see Jerry keeping him (unfortunately) but I just can’t see him RE SIGNING him even with a strong finish. Personally.

Just when we thought this team had quit on him we continued to claw and fight with our best performance in almost 2 months.

So for all of those who feel his tenure is all but over in Dallas , be careful what you wish for. A strong finish with this team could at least get him a 1 year extension.

I know . Winning is more fun. Yesterday was quite fun for a season all but officially over. But if he can coach this deflated roster up then our problem here isn’t coaching.

Perhaps reality will return on Thursday against the hapless Jints but if we are looking ahead we have some winnable games for a 4-7 team with some fight left looking to save their HC’s job.
Doubtful, I think the Jones family was on the fence bringing him back after last season but he was coming off a good regular season and had 1 year to go.

I think the only way he's back is if they go on an unlikely playoff run and the alternative coaches being targeted aren't available.

Why? Lewis got lazy on his depth watch the play again. His entire body language during that play was garbage. Did you want Mike to run out on the field and play DB?
I get your point but HC takes to fall on that. Get the players prepared or get them off the field. That play was simply embarrassing and if Jerry had fired McCarthy over it I would have understood is all.

The Bengals and Eagles games are the two biggest hurdles left. Beyond that I can easily see this team going 8-9.

Regardless, the only scenario I could see McCarthy coming back under is if he gives up playcalling to a new OC.

I don't think he wants to come back. His house is for sale. That alone says it's a foregone conclusion he's out.

Add to it every year he's been on a hot seat unless he met a certain standard. That has to work on you.

You can't coach, make any personnel decisions, or have a game plan without Mastermind Booger's okay. You can't close the curtains or open the roof.

You can't even have practice if Booger wants to land his helicopter.

You're open to every criticism, get all the blame when things go wrong and none of the credit for success.

You're in charge of everything and control the decisions on nothing.

Why would Big Mac want to stay under those conditions? Why would any coach want to come here knowing this is his lot?

Look for an amicable departure like always.

"I spoke with Mike, thanked him for all the hard work he gave this organization and we agreed it's time for both parties to go in a different direction. We wish Mike luck in the future."

Big Mac won't even get to speak into a microphone without Booger approves it.

If we win out and finish 10 - 7, Does McCarthy deserve a new contract? that would be

2020: 6 - 10 (Covid year)
2021: 12 - 5
2022: 12 - 5
2023: 12 - 5
2024: 10 - 7 (Everyone was injured)

I would say Devils Advocate says no one has had a better record over last 5 years outside of Andy Reid.

Do you resign him and stock him up on players?

Even 9-8 would be quite an accomplishment . Yes he would need to get serious consideration to come back . And I’ve been a huge critic .

Funny how finally winning a game has fans asking if McCarthy and Zimmer will be back. Lol If we win out McCarthy could be back but we’re not winning out.

No first off we wont i can see 6-7 wins but if JJ did this he would force mM to hire a real OC and new OL coach etc new schemes etc so t wont work IMHO.

But for me its a hell no he must go... his lack of creativity and the way he misused so many players and didnt demote himself is why..Just NO!

There's a chance they don't win out but it's looking likely.

Yes. A new contract and a McRib.

i can understand this and i think yes new OL coach is needed. i like the scheme with CRush playing QB its more balanced and more under crossing routes and movement. Not sure why Daks offense looks different but i think that needs to be addressed.
