Could be a big week

Bro...I loved your post. There are a lot of things to get excited about this year's team. It's going to be really fun when the starters play against the 49'ers.

But, some "realists" around here say the Cowboys are so in disarray that the team has no chance! lol

Ya San Fran is so scary that scored a ton of points in their last game........0 points to be exact

We have had the capacity to be a "very good" team several times over in the past decade.

But our own inability to critically judge and evaluate the talent each offseason tends to trip us up.

That and a continued tossing huige money to players and eating cap space later.

It's a shame we won't have more access to practices. I'm interested to see the progress of a few players.

It was reported last week that Anthony Spencer might don some pads. I would like to hear how he's moving in them.

Amobi Okoye is supposed to begin practicing with the team. I know we should expect little from him, but it's such a great story.

Terrell McClain should be coming back soon. I'd like to hear how he's doing.

Brandon Carr is returning this week. Morris Claiborne is coming back too. How will the defense look with our top three CBs playing together?

I am also curious to see if Minter will get any snaps with the second team.

Should be a fun week, but there will be no media access. Argh!

Sometimes no media crap isa good thing. LOL
But would be nice to hear some good news about the players you mentioned. Even if it's to only say they all returned to practice.

I'm not even sure what the term "realist" means, but I have a question for you. Do you think with the offense that appears to be really good, combined with a defense heavy draft and some money available for a couple key free agents, do you think we could be on the verge of becoming a very good team the next few years.

I do.

Realist on here does not mean what a "real" realist is. LOL
The self proclaimed realist on here come across as, well, I won't say haters, but mostly negative in their views and opinions. They fail to say anything that can be positive.

To me a true realist, sees things for what this team truly is or can be. They can admit this team can be their 8-8 selves, or even 7-9. but also they can see the potential of going 9-7 or 10-6. But for their own glass is empty outlook most won't admit it.

For me, I say 8-8 team as I have the past 3 years, until they prove me wrong. But I can see 7-9, as well as 9-7 / 10-6 also.

Good post.

T. McClain is the one I really want to see get back to practice at the 1-tech position.

Yes, of all the missing players he's the one who may provide the most help immediately.

Claiborne will be back for about three practices before injuring himself again. He's not much better than Matt Johnson at this point.

I heard on the radio today on the way to work that Claiborne has never played in a preseason game?
Anyone...Is that true?

Preseason. Pre. Season.

If he plays fewer than 10 games this year because of the same shoulder that had him out last year, which required surgery, then we can maybe hover a finger over the panic button.

I think three years of missing so much in the preseason has badly affected his development. he always seems behind the 8 ball. If he was a vet with plenty of skins on the wall, I'd think nothing of him missing preseason practice and game time.

Here's hoping it gets it going this year.

He played in and started 2 preseason games in 2012. That's 2 or 11.

I think Josh Brent gets reinstated some time this week also. Maybe today. I think the fuhrer was waiting until camp closed to do it.

Ah, thanks... better than the zero that that they were saying this morning...though not much better.

Saturday will be the dress rehearsal for the regular season, the last pre season game will be the last chance for guys on the cusp to make the team, and the 49ers game will be here before you know it. This Saturday should tell us something about the team.

Make sure you temper expectations, though. Most teams do not gameplan for the preseason, so we'll basically just be out there running around. That being said, I think the things you can pick up on are execution.

dang, now tell us how you really feel.

How I really feel? Dude...I am feeling really good about this years team...defense and all.

My post was a shot at the "realists" that think just because the team has not achieved anything in the last several years, that they are going to do the same thing this year or any other year.

Yeah, but double standard applies to some....SF can look bad in a preseason game, and it's...well, only preseason...we can look good but yet it means nothing, if we look bad, it's, we suck, this team sucks...

Wow...you are a realist! lol
