I find this interesting:

"Bill will continue to come to work here at Valley Ranch throughout at least the end of this week, and we will continue to meet and address the present status of our team while also discussing the future," Jones said."

Bill said he was retiring from "coaching football"

Anything to it?

One could only hope. I think that would be the best thing for the Cowboys.

Agree. Jerry needs someone who will disagree with him.

So Bill can fulfill all of his GM duties in one week?

I think Bill may be used in consulting but nothing more. Jones is the GM and one day his son Stephen will take over that role.

Agreed.

Jerry has no problem asking others he respects ala Al and Wolfe.

I am sure he will contact Bill from time to time and ask about some things or use Bill as a sounding board...maybe even as a paid consultant.

Just not GM.

This morning it was reported that Parcells will be staying in town and would be used as a consultant. Another note is Parcells will not be paid the 5 mill remaining on his contract so for those that may think he is taking the money and leaving that is not the case.

Agreed. Parcells will not hold the title of GM with the Cowboys but he very well COULD be a consultant. It would be the best use we could make of BP if he is going to stick around.

I would hope that he would be consulted only on personnel and perhaps the offseason conditioning program (one the things he seemed to do right). And that he would NOT be allowed to dictate systems or anything else that should be left to the new coach.
