Could the Cowboys put a filter screen to block out sunlight?

really it can affect both teams, even if the offense is going away from the sun the receivers have to look back to catch

Most football stadiums are built facing North and South. Cowboys Stadium faces East and West. Pretty sure that is what he means.

"Most"... But not all....ok...
But is it known for sure that they muffed up... Or was Jerry being different on purpose?

I think fans assume that since most are this was an error in design.. I do not think it is, and think this is so insignificant that I snicker every time I see our fans whining about the stadium. Just enjoy for crying out loud and don't cry out loud. It seems to be too much to ask.

I agree. It's much ado about nothing.

If anything, i like the advantage if there even is one.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, should be happy that we are who we are right now.

I took the VIP stadium tour the day after the game. The tour guide said that part of the roof was damaged recently in a big storm, so they didn’t open the dome and instead had the sides open. Normally the roof should have been open and the sides closed.

Agreed. You have fans paying an arm and a leg for some of these tickets, and now you blind them on top of it all? That's garbage. Close the curtains!

Blind them? Haha. That is quite an exaggeration. I don't think anyone was blinded. Aww those poor rich people have to deal with sunlight?! Gasp!

We'll have to agree to disagree. Its great advantage for the Cowboys. However, I feel bad for those that bought tickets and that sun glaring at their eyes and can't see the game. Some of those seats cost $200 a pop.

Besides, why would you want that as an advantage? We are steam rolling teams without out it. I say keep it close until the 9ers come into town in the playoffs and open it. I still can't forget how they cheated their way into the Superbowl that year by making their playing field soggy.

Dallas has steamrolled one team this season. One. The Saints IMO.. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about the whole "steamrolling deal"..

I am thrilled that the Cowboys are 6-1.. No doubt. But, they are still struggling beating teams that they should beat.. I want to see how these Cowboys do against the likes of the Cards, Colts, Eagles, etc..

Heck, even if Dallas was steamrolling every team. I still say OPEN ALL DAY. As far as those ticket sale buyers go? No one put a gun to their heads to buy em. That's on them.

So it's your position that just because the team is doing well on the field, anything and everything connected with the franchise should now be beyond question? No offense, but that's ridiculous.

We do agree on one point: there's no way that's an accident.

The issues with glare from the setting sun during the fall were easily predictable. The lot the stadium was built on is more than large enough to have allowed the stadium to be aligned in such a way that the sun would have been a non-issue. Given all that, and the necessity of satisfying Jerry's desire to allow natural light into a structure that would also have the largest video screens the world had yet seen, it seems clear that the architects chose to optimize the stadium design for the benefit of the video screens at the expense of the players and fans who would actually use the facility.

If you're ok with that, great. I'm not and will continue to say so.

They certainly didn't seem to struggle against Seattle even though we spotted them with 17 points.

In all honesty Dallas seems to do well more on the road than at home. Maybe the sun shines right into their eyes just as bright as their opponent.

No, that is not my position. It isn't even close to my position.

Unless you want to play in a dome, all stadiums have certain conditions when the sun is glaring on a part of the field.

If you ever tried the old Veterans stadium, their fans were always sitting in the bright sunshine and their players were standing in it on the sidelines, while the visiting fans and players were usually freezing their butts off in the shade on the other side.

Sorry,,

I am just not ready to join that wagon of "all is good, Cowboys are dominate again! SUPERBOWL!".. There is still much work to be done. IF Dallas makes it to the playoffs, let alone a SuperBowl.

They won't be playing the Titans, Rams,Jags Skins, etc..

How will this team stack up against Green Bay? Eagles?

Seattle was a complete shock win, IMO.. Nobody , and I mean nobody, except for the completely blind homer Cowboys fans saw them winning there. Hell, even The BIGGEST COWBOY HOMER in the world, Irvin, didn't pick em. lol.

We saw this "dominance" in 2007 as well. And, I also remember how that season ended.

Yes, "not the same team", " can't look back on that".. blah blah..

Until this team shows me success, real success.. Actually getting to the NFC championship game. ? Or, Superbowl?

Save it.. Work in progress, and I am praying the wheels don't fall off anytime soon. and that they only get better.

I don't think anyone is saying SUPERBOWL - come on, thats stretching it a bit don't you think?

What I find funny here is that people have gave up on this team even before we started this season. I'm willing to bet you were one of those people. I bet you thought this team was going to be last in their division. When we lost to Niners you sealed it in as "SEASON OVER." Its okay. Because Im one of those that thought the same way and that this team can't possibly be a contender. I predicted a 6-11 record.

Now here they are at 6-1 proving me wrong. They not only surprised me but have shocked me. Who would have known we could have beaten the Seahawks? No one. At 6-1 I'm going to give these Cowboys the benefit of the doubt. They have surpassed what I thought of them at the beginning of the season. And for me to say they have to prove to me they have to win the Superbowl is nothing more than MOVING THE GOAL POST.

The Cowboys don't need to prove to you anything. YOU can keep moving the GOAL POST to satisfy your ego however you like.

The Cowboys has proven their detractors and the pundits wrong. Including YOU. So take it for what it is. Cowboys don't need to prove to you anything. They are already proving it.

So if that bothers you then tough. Get used to it.

So you keep the roof closed, you pump in music and random noises, you let fans stand next to the players before they run out on the field, but closing some curtains is asking too much? Come on, man.

Doesn't have to be all or nothing.

A semi-transparent curtain would let in some glow without blinding anyone or affecting the game.
