Could the Cowboys put a filter screen to block out sunlight?

Which would be great...if they ever actually opened the roof. To the best of my knowledge we have yet to do so for a day game. But man, those big ole screens look great, don't they?

A stadium whose design is not conducive to playing the sport it was supposedly designed for merits complaints, imho.
Yes, the big screens do look great as a matter of fact. As do the unobstructed views from virtually every seat. As does the overall design of the building. As does the capacity for getting fans in there. Easily the best stadium in the world. Easily.

Sunlight is not conducive to football? Seriously? My gosh can we take the diapers off and put on some big boy undies? I hear Joseph Randle might be a hook up.

From what I understand, they have curtains that can cover the glass, but the decision has to be made before the game and can't be changed during the game.

Personally, I like the light shining in like that. It's totally unique to the Deathstar and makes for a very cool visual.

I have no doubt that Mara will whine to Goodell about this and force Dallas to have to decide a few days before kickoff about whether doors or open, or require windows be covered during daygames

What % of the paying customers who were staring into that last Sunday would agree with your notion that they enjoyed an "unobstructed view"?

Looking directly into the setting sun is not conducive to playing (or watching) football any more than it would be to safe driving. To argue otherwise is absurd.

Having AT&T Stadium facing in a direction such that sunlight could come in through the glass doors was probably a bad idea. That being said, would it be possible to simply add a light-filter screen to the retractable doors to block out sunlight? Or prop up a 100-foot light-filter screen, indoors or outdoors, to block the Sun's rays? I think it could be done relatively simply and cheaply, and the light filters could be taken away any time they needed to be, and then moved back in place again.

Anyone with a background in this sort of stuff?

That's called home field advantage.

Sunlight is now an obstruction? I always thought you could see through it.

(coughing) My guess an involved fan who then could even look at the huge screen and seeing the Giants penalized four times on key plays for the stadium noise present...sunlight or not.

It's only an advantage if we win the coin toss and choose to get the right side. What about if we don't? Uh-huh. Considering the possibility of us facing the sun in the 4th quarter, it wouldn't be so good, would it?

Then we win like we did against the Falcons a few years ago anyway. Both teams have to play with the sun in their face. It's not like the sun moves to a fresh angle after 15 minutes of one quarter and all of a sudden the opponent gets 4 quarters of non-sun-interruption.

As long as the sun sets in the west, it's known to affect the 4th quarter with direct sunlight more than the rest of the time. Whoever faces the sun in the 4th quarter gets it much worse. I believe there's a big difference between looking directly into the sun and not doing so. Even the announcer made note of that in reference to the problem at AT&T Stadium. Romo and Witten complained about it as well. Why contend with the glare when it can be avoided? It makes no sense. The curtains would correct that. Looking directly into the sun isn't conducive to good vision.

I thought it looked terrible and seemed to affect the Giants playing calling for part of their drive in the forth. If the shoe was on the other foot and something like that lead to a Cowboys loss people would be marching to the stadium with torches and pitchforks. Keep those curtains closed in the future.

You're crazy.

The roof and doors should be open every game.

This exactly. All this crying and moaning and complaining about sunlight. The game was originally all outdoors, get real people.

Makes perfect sense to me -- as long as the team spend 2 billion smackers to build an indoor stadium, there no reason not to enjoy the disadvantages of not having one, huh?

I heard that the league is going to be talking to the Packers about letting too much cold into their stadium

That analogy is problematic. A better analogy would be if the Vikings, at their old warm enclosed Metrodome, opened a door in December to let a chill breeze in.

This is par for the course for CZ and the usual suspects. Team is 6-1 Murray just ran for his 7th 100 yard game to break a 50 year old record and the usual suspects have nothing to complain about except the Stadium, which by the way gives us a home field advantage. smh

While we're complaining, it'd be nice if each seat came with one of those mist sprayers for days that are warm. As a paying customer, I don't go to football games anticipating to sweat.
