Could Trevon Diggs be a surprise cut?

I would offer Bland a below market contract now. I think you could get him to sign a similar contract to Diggs. The Diggs contract would have been a bargain if he didn’t get injured.
Yeah this seems like one of those obvious sign him a year early at a lower AAV and the player gets some added security.....Of course Jerry doesnt seem to like doing that.

Any coach who watches the tape that man put out there would send him packing pretty fast. Our 82 year old clown show doesn't even know what all 22 means. We are stuck with this guy for at least 2 more years of misery.
you're obsessed with him. and wrong.

I don't think Diggs will be cut. In fact, don't be surprised if Jones brings in his brother Stefan, who is also coming back from an ACL injury. He would love all the publicity of having the brothers playing together.
i'm glad you posted in here, because I just realized I get you and myfairlady confused sometimes lol. Will remember the distinction moving forward.

Overshown will do what it takes to get on the field as soon as possible.
I have no doubt about that, it's staying healthy enough to stay on the field that concerns me and should concern the Cowboys............

I think they need to add another future linebacker for insurance. Clark's days are numbered, we just have Marist at the position.

Diggs is trash. His next best year will be his comeback season after being cut when he's "motivated" but he'll never have a great game against a good team again in a cowboy uniform. Guarantee that

He has a long recovery ahead of him, over 8 months. Have heard the word microfacture regarding his latest injury. Team was unhappy the way he rehabbed from his prior acl tear. Add in there is an out in his contract. Speculation at this point, but something to watch closely.
Not with the Netflix series coming, Jerry is all in on the marketing.

Expect Diggs back and a run on FA like it was the early 2000's

Good point on the salary guarantee. Since it will kick in in March and we know he won't be healthy by then, that would add to the dead money hit.
Whoops, it's already kicked in because of the injury.

No chance. That's not how they operate in Dallas. Diggs is a made man.
We need to make an example out of these players who get a second contract in Dallas and take it down a few notches and turn on cruise control. That has to stop.

2025 a new team would pay Diggs $10M max if he earned his $1M game day bonuses
2026 a new team would pay Diggs $16.5M but none guaranteed. Could be cut with no dead money
2027 a new team would pay Diggs $20.5M but none guaranteed. Could be cut with no dead money
2028 a new team would pay Diggs $20M but none guaranteed. Could be cut with no dead money

So a team could look at it as 2 years $26.5M. That's not at all something that would scare a team away if they thought he'd be healthy and good
But Diggs “being healthy and good” is not a guarantee. Two knee surgeries in two years is not exactly a vote of confidence for a corner who must have speed and quickness to be effective.

Due to his injury/surgery his salary is guaranted. Thats why our FO was not amused about his decission.

So he wont be cut.

From what i've gather from the more creditable report, the ACL of Diggs is not distached or a new ACL tear.
So I thought it's not quite in the same level as his previous ACL torn injury.

If anything i'd be more concerned with the leadership qualities of Diggs,
Does he freelance and play to his own tune ? Has his toughness been questioned ?
Is he coachable ? Is there some discontent with coaches ?

That would indeed be something to be closely watched .

They are all fair questions. Also, have a decision forthcoming on Bland. Diggs future could be tied to him

Doubt it. They need to let him heal then trade him if they can and that may require leaving him on ir until the 2026 off-season. Trade him before the draft to a possible contender or the browns lol.
His knee is jacked.

that surgery never works out.
