Could Trevon Diggs be a surprise cut?

They can’t cut him until he’s healthy. Otherwise they’d have to pay a settlement in addition to having a 12-13 million dead cap hit.

Considering he won’t be healthy until September, I think they’ll give him one more season. A move after next season seems likely though.
His 9M base for 2025 is gonna be protected in March due to the knee being jacked.

but the math still works. especially if the surgery doesn’t work out.

His knee is gone. They can post June 1 cut, and they are out in 2027. Why let it linger?

I would be surprised if he is still on the roster, even IR, when camp starts.

Was always overrated. The fluke season of INTs was the worst thing that could have happened, it got fans ignoring his flaws.

Parsons, Diggs, and Prescott would be great trade chips. But the Jones' dummies don't have it in them.

He has a long recovery ahead of him, over 8 months. Have heard the word microfacture regarding his latest injury. Team was unhappy the way he rehabbed from his prior acl tear. Add in there is an out in his contract. Speculation at this point, but something to watch closely.
Harsh, but it certainly sends a message. Then again it's Jerry, so which ever decision he makes it'll be the wrong one.

I wouldn't be surprised. They are on the hook for his 2025 salary (with no expectations to play). May as well eat the $dead cap and cut him rather than risk putting a player on the field in 2026 at $19+M who is only a fraction of himself. Of course, Jerry will probably restructure his contract.

I watched the way Diggs avoided contact and that was all I needed to see. The guy is not a serious football player. I don’t care if he heals - keep Bland get rid of Diggs.

That's what they are going to have to decide, who to keep for the long-term. They gave Diggs the contract, but there is an out this year. However, if they decide to make that move, they better find a good replacement.

Diggs going matador is all you need to see. There should be no discussion Bland is the better player. Carson had some dawg in him.

With these guys, anything is possible.

You could probably trade him but these bozos suck at working trades.

Some fans like to overlook his trash because he's talented. I'm trying to tell them you will never win anything with a player like him on defense unless defensive leadership would literally punch him in his face for playing so soft. We obviously don't have that so he's a negative. The type to rub off on other young players.

Diggs is the better cover corner, but Bland is better in run support. Carson is terrible, he was benched several weeks ago.

Exactly but here’s the point they weren’t thinking of cutting him anyway, the man had some bad luck got an injury on a different league and he’s still one of our top players. We have too Exactly but here’s the point they weren’t thinking of cutting him anyway, the man had some bad luck got a injury on a different league and he’s still one of our top players. We have too many holes to fill it be cutting this guy and yes in 2026 they can go to him and say hey if you want to be on this team time to restructure your money. i’m not talking about like move money around to help the team I’m talking about rip up that contract and start over with a more team friendly deals that be up to him…..
Too many excuses for the front office, players and coaches. Never have I seen you put a space between your rants so it’s easier to read or hold anyone accountable.

In hindsight it’s a bad contract, they could have waited used a FT and likely got him cheaper. Same thing with Dak.

We had the financial ability to pay these players or let them play out their contract or franchise tag them.

What do "guaranteed for injury" mean?
