Are any of you who are trying to excuse this action by Owens going to take into consideration that EVERY ex football player who's been asked about this incident has taken Owens to task for it?

Geez, the only reason why this topic keeps on appearing and reappearing is because people don't simply say "Not cool" and leave it at that.

EVERY ex player interviewed has strongly criticized Owens.

And notice, NONE have said anything about Hall in this. AND HALL IS A JERK! So you can imagine how lame this action was by Owens that no one, except people here, are trying to excuse what happened by making Hall the bad guy.

You would think catching 2 TDs on Hall was enough for Owens, but no, he had to take it a step further and spit on the guy .

This guy is doing this when we are winning, I get goose bumps when I think about the stuff he would be pulling if our record was reversed which could have easily happened if Romo didnt pan out.

While I am not a fan of TO the person, I love him as a player. This incident is bad but in the interview I got the impression that only half the story came out and the other half won't come out til much later. I could be wrong because Mooch brought up the fact that in the 6 years he coached TO nothing like this happened and then TO sucker punched him and admitted and very swiftly apologized and moved on to the next subject.

You're probably onto something but it's not what the consummate TO bashers will want to hear.

It's highly possible that D Hall did something even more despicable that TO and TO retaliated. somethings like this are meant to be kept on the field. That's probably why you find TO's utter surprised when questioned about it by the media. Instead of pulling punk move #2 and saying "well he spit on me too or whatever" TO simply did what he had to do and quickly moved on. You very well could be onto something.

Actually he spit on him first, then proceeded to burn him for two TDs .

Seriously, though, you cannot defend TO's actions. He is somewhat of a sociopath. Up to this point, he has exercised his free speech to the chagrin of many, but this is the worst thing he has ever done. This is the first non-verbal offense from him (other than TD celebrations which he no longer does). I appreciate his talent and we need him to continue performing the way he has to go as far as we want to go. I just hope this doesn't escalate into something catastrophic -- you know, like TO going postal or something.

Why is it that the "media" (which I can't stand btw, a fav song is "Dirty Laundry") decided to pick on Owens?

Let's think about this.

Owens comes into the league...the media has it's annual drawing for the "Player we are going to abuse for the next decade" awardand came up with Owens name.

I mean this had to start somewhere, right?

The "media" didn't arbitrarily decide, "Hey lets get him!" from day one, right?

I do not see this incident any different then when Teague belted TO from behind from standing on the star. While many here gave props to Teague for answering the bell when TO disgraced the star, the reponse was from the same place in the mind letting emotions get the best of you. At least TO did it to the face of Hall and didn't sucker him from behind. Both acts are reprehensible the biggest difference is TO is a headline and Teague was a grunt.

You see TO is truthful to a fault. He has always been that way. That's why the media loves shoving a mic in his face. I am even more convince today there are two sides to spitgate. Just the fact that TO was so surprised when questioned about it by the media... I believe there was probably more going on. One player chose to whine to mommy media while the other took the high road while in disbelief that the other would whine like a little you know what. TO could have easily said "but he spat on me too or he kneed me in the groin.. etc etc". Instead he chose the high road.
