I have similar thoughts and concerns, but instead of Carpenter and Ayodele--I'm in favor of Carpenter replacing Bradie James. Ayodele has a proven track record at inside linebacker which I think will resurface again during the regular season.

Right now, Bradie James is playing alright. The thing is his coverage skills, or lack thereof. IF he gets exposed early this year, you might see a change. Burnett is coming on hard and Carp is a much better cover LB.

A lot is going to be determined by Ellis and SPencer.

I can remember Parcells riding D.Ware hard on getting caught inside on running plays even early into his 2nd season........

I honestly don't know who is the better player against the run between James and Ayodele, but whoever is better should stay in, because neither James or Ayodele seem to be able to rush the passer very well ( although Ayodele was a DE in college)

Carpenter was drafted and coached by Parcells. He's being further evaluated by Phillips. If two different coaches don't have the confidence in starting him, does his not starting fall on either coach or squarely on Carpenter's shoulders?

I thought Parcells did start Carp at the end of the season. Was he backing up someone?

No. He started the last two regular season games and the playoff game last year.

I love the irony of fans not wanting to play a first pick linebacker because his inexperience will cause him to miss reads, but the same fans were happy about putting in a undrafted QB in during halftime of a primtime NFC east game.

Again, for the eleventy billionth time, where a player is drafted has absolutey nothing to do with what happens on the field of play. Tony Romo was a three year vet when he was put in that day...not an undrafted free agent.

Spencer is what he is until he changes it himself...an inexperienced rookie learning a new position.

Sorry, I didn't state that very well. I was commenting on Carpenter not being named a starter until after Ellis sustained his injury last season.
