Aikman endorses him and so do a lot of the players. I'm torn. On one hand we can't score in the red zone, we commit too many penalties, and his clock management is terrible. On the other hand the team does play hard for him and he wins lots of games in the regular season, for the most part. He was set up to fail this year and we all saw it coming.
i put the penalty issue on the players.
i refuse to believe they need a coach to walk them by the hand and show them how or where to line up.
thats on the player.
same as jumping off sides.
they've played long enough.
they know...or should.

red zone scoring...time management...THAT is on the coaches.

troy's endorsement for me is enough.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
Deep sigh...very deep sigh
Takes sip....swirls glass, downs rest
Walks out in cold, barefooted
Stairs up at stars, blows steam in air
Walks back in, pours another drink
Sits back down on couch and hugs son
Apologizes to him for making him a fan
Gets ready to repeat failure all over...

I believe the Bears can simply wait until January 14th when McCarthy's current contract expires.

However, this is definitely a sign.

I suspected that McCarthy will be resigned because time may be running out on Jerry and he doesn't want to start over.

My suspicions will be reinforced if Jerry does a complete 180 on free agency and spends money on impactful veterans. Theoretically this would also allow him to go BPA in the draft.

I think Jerry values the continuity and familiarity of keeping Mccarthy. And really, it was the injuries and relative inactivity in free agency that was responsible for the Cowboys demise this season.

I'm thinking MM could be the hold up. He hired an agent for this very reason.......nego a contract with Jerry giving him more control over players, personnel and probably a larger budget for coaches. He's spent five years seeing the way Jerry operates. He would be foolish not to take advantage of his leverage.

im just saying lack of red zone scoring is more on the coach than penalties.
i refuse to believe micah lined up off-sides because coach mccarthy...or james franklin did not show him how.
players know.
when backup rush came in , suddenly the team started scoring in the redzone .

Jerry has been looking for reasons to bring Mike back all year. Remember, he wants to be right about Mike- it was his choice after all. Firing him is an admission he made a mistake. The bears having interest is just another reason to Jerry to bring Mike back
I agree with that last part. It justifies the decision.
