Cowboy deny Bears interview request

I'm sure you're at least partially right here, but I would suspect that "evaluating MM" is more trying to drive his price tag down at this point.

I have two issues with what Jerry is doing right now:
1) It really sets you back in the coaching search if you dont bring MM back.....Yeah there will always be decent HC names out there, but you have to fill out the rest of the staff too, and many of those names are going to be gone.
2) Other coaches see this situation too...Not that guys are going to boycott the Cowboys, but if a coach has options why would he go to the team that plays hardball with guys already on staff? Jerry has had a history of not letting coaches out of their contracts to look at other opportunities, but blocking guys who aren't even under contract in a couple weeks? Again this puts not only MM in a bad spot but everyone down the staff...

This is an outdated business philosophy we are seeing, and most reputable businesses in modern times who care at all about their employees over profits wont operate like this, and the longer it goes on the more Jerry is going to tarnish the reputation of the Cowboys within coaching circles. Not saying theyll struggle to fill any roles, there will still be a line of people wanting these jobs, but you wont get many A candidates.
yup - outdated / outmoded / outclassed seem to all be themes here with this owner and GM and management group...

How do you say all in without saying all in? TBH if your bringing back the mediocre QB there is no sense in bringing in new HC with new offense. What’s a few more years of mediocrity when it’s been nearly 30 yrs so far!

I dont think this really tells us anything other than dumbdumbsr and dumbdumbjr really haven't decided whether they want to keep MM and need more time.

You just have to laugh at how inept this team is run! I don’t think it really matters what they do at HC, it’s just the handling of the situation. They fumble every single decision.

Didn't see that coming.booger said he wanted people who wanted to be here.
Then when Big Mac has a cha nice to leave, get better pay, and be a real HC, Booger says, "you ain't going anywhere til I tell ya."

That's messed up.

Booger doesn't want to deal with an agent.
It's going to cost him money. He wants a deal where everything is in his favor. He won't get that dealing with an agent.

If I'm Big Mac I leak that I am interested in exploring my options. I'm not interested in a one/two year extension.

The only surprise for me would be MM sticking around for the abuse. As for Jerry, no surprises there. He is the owner, after all, who ran off a coach who won 2 SBs for him.

If they haven't decided after all this time, than imo, they have decided. MM will most likely return cause they are just lazy and it's easier to keep it status quo and hopefully get another 11+ win season when everyone is healthy. Who cares about playoffs when JJ can say we are one of the winningest teams in the NFL

Only way MM leaves is if JJ lowballs him or no other team truly has an interest in him. Otherwise, I think the lock is in unfortunately.

welp looks like he will be resigned. If he isn't it's because MM wanted to leave or they couldn't agree on money.

more time? They had months since we started 3-5 and was blown out in a home playoff game. From the playoffs last year until the end of the Falcons game, we had a record of 0-4 at home.

Evaluate?.. surely to god you would know already if you wanted to keep him or not?

Jerry has been looking for reasons to bring Mike back all year. Remember, he wants to be right about Mike- it was his choice after all. Firing him is an admission he made a mistake. The bears having interest is just another reason to Jerry to bring Mike back
So sad but true.

Good thing we've got Jerry on this. He'll end up re-signing McCarthy at the end of this stupid negotiating period and none of the good assistant coaches will be left

Jerry is in love with being comfortable

Jerry World. Easy does it when going all in.

Can they take Jerry and Stephen if we promise Mike 3 more years?

so when do they announce MM is coming back on a 3 year deal?
