Cowboy Fan Living in Philly Area

My worst nightmare has come true. It's been bad since the playoffs started with Philly making it and us nowhere to be seen. Every newscast is all about the Iggles and their run. Now it's gonna get exponentially worse with the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. God forbid they win the thing. I won't be able to turn the TV on.

What makes it worse is that I can't say to myself that this is their year but we are on the cusp and will be back in the hunt and a strong contender next year. That would be a lie. An overpaid QB coming off an injury, no running game to speak of, an offensive and defensive line full of question marks and a so-so secondary with it's best player coming off a major injury. Oh, I forgot, a head coach that nobody else even bothered to interview. What a rosey picture.

So for the next two weeks and maybe into the offseason, I will be bombarded with Fly, Eagles, Fly chants and mayors trying to figure out how to spell Eagles. It is going to be Hell. I often asked myself why I became a Cowboys fan so many years ago and curse Roger Staubach who drew me in. But here I am; a Cowboys fan in enemy territory without hope or any ammunition to fight back when I get bombasted with Iggle chants.

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a glimmer of hope for the Cowboys next season. What is a reason to be optimistic for 2025 and beyond? Thanks in advance if anyone can come up with that
There’s no hope. Just enjoy football or don’t but you are gonna be miserable. I don’t even care if the Eagles win anymore. I honestly don’t even go at it with Eagle fans anymore. No point. Not at this point in both teams current situations. Maybe make a NFC championship and we can talk.

I live about an hour north of philthy and have been a boys fan since the 70s. As I sit here in the am, i cant have any tv on without hearing about the stupid egals. Some ******* in a store yesterday tried to get the E A G L E S chant going and no one joined in...what a maroon.
I’m 20 minutes from Gillette Stadium. I’ve been a cowboy fans since my military days early 70s. Cowboys Green Bay before that. I have my five rings. I feel bad for these young kids.

Well, it only took him to the 21st century . But if you don’t win when you get there, it means nothing. I think Jim Kelly was one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, but he didn’t get the four rings.

Me too. No radio. I don't even want to go to Wawa and get coffee for the next month. Just sick to my stomach. Can't stand to see these toothless cheese steak breath Eagle fans walking around

A young football fan, I like it. I take my football series also. That sick your stomach feeling that’s a good thing.

The brutal truth is there is no hope for the next few years and you'd be better off just accepting it. The combo of Dak's deteriorating play, his crushing contract, a mediocre roster, a division and conference filled with good young QBs and teams that are getting better, bad drafts, etc etc....the writing is in the wall until we can turn the page on Dak and maybe luck into a franchise QB. And someday Jerry will die and you just have to hope Steven decides it's not worth the headache and either sells the team or lets a GM run it. That's reality.

Glimmer of hope? Jerry and Stephen Jones each have an epiphany:

a) they should re-adopt their pre-March 28, 1994 management roles
b) hire a qualified, competent general manager

They will net more financial prosperity and additional fame. In return, a real team winning culture will have an opportunity for re-establishing itself after decades. Innovative management will approach coaching and roster decisions from a different, fresh perspective. It is a win-win for everyone: the Joneses, fans and sports media.

Enough sleep typing. I will wake up now.

The Eagle fans will be crying in two weeks.
Hurts is going the route of RGIII.
Run too much - hurt.
This is such a terrible post. Going the route of RG3....oh yeah except that part where he's been to 2 SBs already and if his career ended today he'd be regarded as a massive success and a winner.

I'd say you were having one of those lucid dreams except that what you described was too fantastical.

If you can't beat em joined em! Ding dong the Cowboys are dead and not coming back anytime soon if ever. I bailed the minute I heard Dak was given anew contract. It had been a long time coming but why should I waste my time on something that basically brings heart ache year after year. Get out and go enjoy watching good players play. Be an NFL fan! There are no more rivalries, there is no loyalty with these players so why should you suffer and remain loyal to a dictator who makes bad move after bad move.

Wash and Philly have had great years. They have won some battles. But Dallas is winning the war all time.

When they come and boast and brag, take the high road and concede the last 30 years have been a desert for us. But even with that desert, we are still looking down on the little bros in the NFCE.

When they start yapping, just tell them when we throw a dog a bone once in a while, we don’t want to hear how it tastes lol

The NFL is cyclical. We will rise again. It will eventually come back around again.

It is always darkest right before the dawn.

That’s all I got lol
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, a study on Stockholm Syndrome

Only solace I can give is we have had a different division winner for the past 20 years. That’s about it

I live in the middle of Chief territory. It's worse here. I've gone through this the last 2 years and now again this year. If I had a dollar for every time I've hear three-peat I'd be rich. That's not counting the Chiefs making the AFCCG for 7 years in a row. The pain Cowboys fans feel living here is worse than anywhere else.

BBQ country, good for you! I like Mahomes a lot, other than that no real love for the Chiefs. He has a good head on his shoulders.

I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with recognizing history concerning any topic. Doing so can provide anyone a retrospective of what can happen in the future since events came true in the past.

On the other hand, boasting is always more effective when ammunition is still new. Time has eroded the sheer dominance that the franchise demonstrated in years gone by. Folks can use what Dallas was but the gunpowder has run dry. There will be predictable misfires using Old Dallas against newer fans.

Better you than me

I’m in commander land and it’s very peaceful this Monday morning

One of the best Monday’s in my life

lol. I love this post simply because Washington will always be the team I dislike the most.
