Cowboy Fans, jenn says Jerry maybe looking at Boldin *Merge*

Why would the Cowboys throw in players & picks for Boldin. That's too much.

Just stick to a 2nd and a 4th (or 5th)

Taylor & Shockey was traded for picks ONLY.

It's a good point... and if no other team is involved, it could work...

Isn't the major difference that their two teams were more than happy to unload those two? The Cards would do not need to give up Boldin at this point, although that could change with an ugly holdout.

Give a 1st and 4th for Boldin

and

give a 2nd, 3rd and 5th for Roy W.

We are in WIN NOW mode.

I know, I'm crazy. I've been called worse...

You make a better point.

IF Boldin is really on the trading block we wouldn't be the only interested party.
Boldin is a mid-aged star with no real baggage. He will yield more than one 1st rd pk in a trade.

What's exciting is IF Boldin is being shopped we have a great chance to not only secure his services, but slit the eagles proverbial throat in the process.
The eagles are in dire need of a WR like Boldin. It could help elevate them to contender status. Stealing him would cripple their morale as an organization. The fans would be crushed.

As if they aren't already...

Ok....here's what I'm thinking.

Rosenhaus is a very dogged, determined agent. He is very good at getting what he wants. If the reports are true, and he wants Boldin traded to Dallas, then Philly would be out of the question.

Execellent point! Do the Fecals really want to deal with another Rosenhaus Reciever? I think not :lmao: ( too bad this smiley is not doing sit-ups):laugh2:

I don't think it's that much of a difference.

I just hope Boldin doesn't pull a C. Johnson.

Build the in house talent...

since TO is the only "non-house" talent, i'd say we have been. but if a wr like bolden can be gotten for a fair deal, you have to look at it. if the "house guys" beat him out, great. if not we're still covered.

this is nothing but improvement if jones can make it happen. nothing but a good thing.

An league source tells the Miami Herald that Anquan Boldin could be available in a trade.

"I think Boldin will be in play," the source said. "The Cardinals don't want to trade him. But I don't think the Giants wanted to trade Jeremy Shockey and the Dolphins didn't want to trade Jason Taylor. And we know how that turned out. When a team has an unhappy player in camp, it is not a comfortable situation." What the source fails to take into account is that Boldin is relatively cheap and is willing to play for the Cardinals until his contract expires. There's no reason they'd trade him.

Like Shockey and Taylor, he's a disgruntled player nonetheless.

The Cards are going to want to dump him, IF they can get decent value in return, somewhere down the line.

Bobby Carpenter and our 2009 1st.....would that get us Boldin?

But I don't think the Giants wanted to trade Jeremy Shockey and the Dolphins didn't want to trade Jason Taylor

I think thats false. Both players were becomng distractions and their teams were actively shopping them.

Boldin is a younger, improving PB calibur WR w/ a good attitude

IMO, this is what it will take to get Boldin:

Our 1st, 3rd and Crayton(they need a guy to fill in for him)

Considering we are pretty much loaded in every poistion besides reciever, I think losing a number 1 next year wouldnt be so bad. We have enough depth to make it.

Secondly, Jerry is only doing this in case TEEO gets hurt. If he gets hurt we have no proven one. Crayton, on a good day, is at best a two. The other young guys are not proven. You might hit a homerun with one of them or they could hit a wall around midseason. Do you really want to take that chance when you have this good of team? Its not every year you have the talent we do and lets not waste it. If we start out 3-0 and stay healthy, theres a good possibilty we could make a 16-0 run.

Hopefully the Cowboys make a move on him and not Philly.

Eh-I wouldn't mind him going to Philly, here's why-Eagles will likely give Lito as part of the package(in addition to draft picks and/or other players).

Pt being that Asante Samuel, who's MO isn't playing man-man to begin with, is going to have a HUGE responsibility trying to lock down his side of the field. And with Lito gone, the Eagles have NIL depth in the secondary.

Sure-they may finally have their stud wideout, but OTOH, Jim Johnson may have to reign in his playbook a bit.

Boldin done talking with Cards

by Kent Somers - Jul. 24, 2008 03:29 PM
The Arizona Republic
FLAGSTAFF – An afternoon storm, this one man-made, blew through the Northern Arizona campus Thursday just minutes after the team finished its conditioning test.

Receiver Anquan Boldin didn’t hide his unhappiness over his contract, telling reporters team officials deceived him by not following through on a promise to give him a new contract by the start of the season. Boldin said he has instructed his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to break off negotiations with the team.

“At this point, I’m not even interested in a contract,” said Boldin. “For me, it’s been going on two years, and especially after last year, I was promised a deal would get done before the season. But the season’s here and obviously that hasn’t happened.

“I don’t want a deal. People may think I’m being funny or saying that just to say it. But, for me, I’m just tired of it. Washed my hands of the whole situation. My agent has direct orders not to negotiate. So that’s how I feel about it.”

Rosenhaus, however, met with General Manager Rod Graves in Phoenix Wednesday evening and travelled to Flagstaff and met with coach Ken Whisenhunt on Thursday. Rosenhaus spoke to a reporter a few hours before Boldin and never indicated that talks had broken off.

In fact, he said there was hope because the two sides were still talking.

Whisenhunt reacted calmly to Boldin’s comments, saying several times that the organization plays a high value on Boldin, who has made two Pro Bowls in five season.

“I understand his frustration and hopefully we’ll be able to go forward and get something done,” he said.

The dispute won’t affect Boldin’s play, or the team’s chemistry, the coach said. “When you talk about professionals, Anquan to me is one of the ultimate professionals,” Whisenhunt said. “He’s a guy who is going to show up and give you everything he’s got, and I don’t anticipate that changing.”

Boldin has three years left on a contract extension he signed before the 2005 season. That deal paid him an average of $4 million, far below what elite receivers are making now.

The Cardinals have expressed interest in re-signing him and say they made Rosenhaus an offer last December but that he never responded. So team officials said they moved on and re-signed receiver Larry Fitzgerald to a four-year, $40 million deal this spring. Boldin, however, doesn’t think the team has ever been serious about delivering on a promise. “It’s not semantics,” he said. “It’s, ‘Anquan, we’re going to get you done before the start of next season.’ That’s exactly out of their mouths.”

When asked how he would respond to possible criticism from fans, Boldin said he would tell them he wants a new contract “because I’ve earned it. I think my numbers speak for themselves, and they (the Cardinals) even came out publicly and said that I outplayed my contract. I mean, I don’t have to make a case to anybody about why I’m deserving of a new contract. That’s self-explanatory.”

It has nothing to do with Fitzgerald’s deal, either, he said. “Larry earned everything that he got. Honestly, he played his butt off. He deserved it.”

The contract dispute won’t affect his play, Boldin vowed, saying “the way that I play this game won’t change.”

The damage with the team, however, cannot be repaired, said Boldin.

“I’m really disappointed it came to this point. For the last five, going on six years, I gave everything I had to this organization. In that sense, I’m disappointed.”
