One of my best friends from my youth is a Reds fan and a Steelers fan. He started being interested in sports in 1975. The Reds won the World Series and the Steelers beat us in the Super Bowl.MC KAos;4329197 said:i think unless you are from LA and you saw the cowboys practice in Oxnard as a child, its pretty ridiculous that people are lakers and cowboys fans. yes, they can pick a team and then stick with it, but if you are just picking a good team you are still jumping on a bandwagon, even if you stay on it, you still did it. You should root for your hometown teams, teams near by, or at least teams that your parents or family members cheer for. if your parents were bandwagon jumpers and you have always cheered for the boys and lakers, thats one thing, but if you decided in the early eighties or early nineties "gee, i want to get into basketball and football, i think ill go with the cowboys and lakers! even though i live in cleveland or atlanta" then you are a bandwagon jumper, no matter how long you stay on it.
i know this form experience, my cousin is from LA (rancho cucamonga) yet he is somehow a yankees, patriots and heat fan? ya, that makes sense

He still loves both teams. How is that a bandwagon? He followed his interests and sticks by them.
So if those teams had lost the World Series and Super Bowl he wouldn't be a bandwagon fan?MC KAos;4329397 said:how is it not? he jumped on the bandwagon when the teams were good, he just stayed on the bandwagon, so at least thats commendable.

I really think you are stretching the definition too far.
Then you are a bandwagon fan of the Cowboys unless you became a fan in 1988 or 1989 or the Campo years.MC KAos;4329551 said:in my opinion, the definition of jumping on a bandwagon is liking a team solely because they are good. At least he stuck with it though, but nevertheless, he jumped on those team's bandwagons.

Oh BTW. I'm also a Mavs/Rangers/Stars fan. Always have been and always will be.

I had not even known a winning season until 2003, and had to endure the taunting of texan fans my first year of high school, thanks to the cowboys.
Do i get a cookie now?
