Yes very nice. Unless you are an arrogant Eagles fans from Philly....
I worked with a guy in South Florida for a good 8 years. Overall a decent guy, we worked very well together. Except he had a hatred for Texas and the Cowboys. Being an Eagles fan I understood the cowboys hate, but he had this absolute hatred toward anything Texas.

He explained it to me as to why.

He said he came to Texas to go to college, it was a small college, I can't remember which one, near DFW area though. He said with his Philadelphia brashness, he went up to a Texan, bigger than he was, and mouthed off to him, because he didn't like him. Because he was the BMOC.
He said he woke up 2 days later, broken nose, 2 black eyes. He packed his stuff, quit college and went home. Never to return. He said if he ever had to drive west, he would take a week to drive around Texas. :lmao2:
A guy I worked with in California had a similar experience. He said that he didn't like Texans because he picked a fight with one and the guy picked him up and dropped him on his head. Knowing I was a Texan he used to kid that he drove through west Texas and his hat blew off and lodged against a telephone pole too high up for him to retrieve. So he went on to his destination and when he returned a week later the hat was still there. He was a good guy though.

As a New Englander, man can I vouche for this. My sons and I went to the Dez pinkie out game against the Giants a few years ago, and they both STILL talk about how friendly everyone was in Dallas.

And we had a blast playing catch on the field at the end of the stadium tour.

as a flip side to this, in all the games at the stadium I have only seen problems last year during the patriots game. There really wasn't that many patriots fans there but they all seem to be cut from the same mold. Loud, arrogant and looking for trouble. I had two guys sitting next to me who were just morons. In the first half when Dallas defense was playing well they were just yelling at everyone about how Dallas doesn't win super bowls anymore and how great they were. It was so frustrating.

That is the only time I have seen trouble with fans getting into it with each other and getting kicked out. At the old stadium, every eagles game I saw fights and eagles fans getting kicked out. I am always amazed why they come here with this chip on their shoulder as if people in the stands are looking for fights or something.

I am from New York and do not understand that mentality but whatever. I was surprised by the patriots fans last year, I went to a pats game at the old stadium in the 90's and it was pretty calm and I didn't see any issues and that was in parcells time there when they were winning. I have a friend who shares season tickets for the pats and he doesn't even like going anymore because he thinks the fans are disinterested and hardly into the game. He always tells me the only games that have atmosphere are the playoff games because the fans are so spoiled.

Do you already have tickets for the game? If not here is a suggestion for you.... Call Lance at ticket source and get some club level seats that get you access to the players tunnel. All of the players will walk right by you down there and the seats are to die for.

Those seats would be in the thousands per seat but in a preseason game the price is about what you would pay for a regular season end zone seat. Well worth the cost.

Mods feel free to move this as i wasn't sure where to put it. So i'm traveling from VA with my bro this week to attend not only my first professional football game but my first cowboys game!! I know its preseason but i'm still really really excited.

My question is to those who have been to the stadium before. Are there any tips to what i be doing when i get there? Should i arrive hours before the game? We're likely to be uber-ing the entire time so im good on parking but wasn't sure if there are festivities before or something.

I've heard everything in there food & drink related is super expensive but are there any deals on cowboys merchandise? or should i try to get that stuff elsewhere in dallas?

Any overall do's & don'ts i should be aware of when visiting there? any suggestions on someplaces to visit before or after the game?

any tips would be much appreciated!

My biggest tip is check your ticket and see which gate you need to go in. You can only enter from the exact gate on your ticket because inside the stadium you are not free to walk around. you can only walk from the corner end zone to the other corner end zone unless you have a club level ticket. If you have a club ticket than you can walk all the way around the stadium.

The ticket gate opens 3 hours prior to the kickoff, the actual doors to the stadium opens 2 hours before. So you can get into the party pass plaza's where there is food and big screens but you have an hour before the gates open to get in.

They do the 105.3 fan pregame show on the west end plaza also. If you are facing the doors its to the left. If you want to meet Jesse holley, mike fisher, Bryan broaddus etc.. they are out there and are very nice people who will stop and talk to you.

Food and drinks are expensive but there are all kinds of food, fruit and even wine if you are into it. Gameday programs are 10 bucks.

also one last tip. If you get up to go to the bathroom make sure you have your ticket with you because they are at times militant about not letting you back to your seat without your ticket. A few years ago I ran to the bathroom quick during a commercial break, I left my ticket in my program under my seat. When I tried to go back to my seat the usher held me up and argued. I missed the entire opening offensive series of the 4th qtr....I am a season ticket holder and usually have the same usher and they remember me but this older woman would not let me back to my seat. I finally grabbed another usher and explained to her and she let me down to my seat and I had to bring my ticket back up to show the other usher. I was not happy!

I dont tailgate but there are tailgates everywhere. On the westend the entire street along collins is tailgating and then lot 15 there is the bus lot with tons of them.

finally, believe it or not with the doors and roof closed the A/C is cold in there. So depending how much heat you are used to the A/C might be cold! sounds dumb I know. The weather is really below normal this week here so I am hoping that by some odd occurrence we get the roof and doors open friday night.
