He didn't say he didn't need Floyd. He said Floyd was not worth a mid-first.Of course you cherry pick this season, but Marinelli has not had a defense full of rookies every year, this is what, year 5?
And Marinelli has said he doesn’t need top end talent, remember they were going to draft Sheriif Floyd in the first round and Rod said he didn’t need him.
Marinelli had to play a lot of man in past years because they were tied to players like Carr and Claiborne. Now he has players that better fit his scheme. If everyone gets/stays healthy then I expect this defense to significantly improve. If it doesn't then I'll get on the 'It's Marinelli's fault" bandwagon.
