If only Dak had the All-22 view and hindsight when the play was run. Why wouldn't he try to fit the ball between two linebackers that are just standing there.

You guys are some of the worst fans I've seen. Every other young qb out there has 'potential', but Dak isn't allowed to learn on the fly

If he threw the ball as Witten was making his break and turning back to look for the ball, that's as open as you can get in the NFL. Should be an easy throw for an NFL QB, dude. Sure, the LBs would have closed in soon thereafter, but that's where you rely on Witten to hold on to the ball. Bottom line.

Dak isn't playing with anticipation this season. And he did, quite a bit, last year. He seems ultra-gunshy this year and has regressed in that area. Sorry, but I won't give him a pass for this. Game on the line and to throw a dump down pass is absolutely inexcusable, every single time.

Dak wouldn't even pull the trigger when it was 4th down, with the game on the line. Instead, he dumps it off to Zeke who had basically no shot to get the first down. He could have thrown it to Witten with anticipation and picked up 20 yards, and we would have won the game.

This is the definition of "too conservative" Even if Dak isn't the only problem, THIS pisses me off

Was this a problem last year? I seem to recall he was less gun shy last year.

Anything else aside, that's all on him.

I don't care if it's a bad throw and he gets picked. At least give your team a chance to get the first down.

I could see Witten from my couch with my #82 jersey on. No idea why Dak couldn't.

Exactly. It's the same as all these bail out, 3 yard throws he's making on 3rd and 7. We may as well just punt on 3rd down if that is going to be the norm.

Seriously guys?

Does nobody else see what Mayowa is and isn't doing here? This is the same crap that he was benched for last year. And the guy apparently hasn't learned a thing!

You want to sit somebody when Irving comes back? Here's your man.

Shoot, I'd rather have Tapper back in Mayowa's place.

Definitely was, early in the year. But Dak made some amazing throws toward the end of the year and in the playoff game. Throws that required touch and timing and total awareness of the field. I just haven't seen much of that this season

Let's not act like the LBs were pinching Witten.

There was more than enough of a window plus the safeties were backpeddling.

That's a throw a high level NFL QB has to make. It's also not the only instance of him missing WRs down the field this year in order to make the quick dump off.

I seriously can't stop laughing at some of you who act like Dak should be free of criticism because he's just a young QB.

I am <just> about ready to admit I've been wrong about Kirk Cousins.

I didn't think he was very good.

He continues to improve and and at this point I think he's become a pretty good QB.

And he's literally getting paid out the ying yang by repeatedly being franchised.

Yeah I don't get the cherry picking one play here or there to prove a point with Prescott. I don't think anyone has said he's not making plays. I think what people are saying is there is a level of inconsistency in his play that wasn't there last year.

I don't see how anyone can refute that.
This is completely true

A couple of observations, neither of which buys you a cup of coffee: Jaylon cannot handle getting blocked AT all by the C or OG. He must be protected by the interior DL. I see too many plays where he gets pushed out easily by a C of OG. Our DTs must tie up their guy and maybe another guy to protect him. Do we have a DT that requires a double team? NO.

Maybe he is a weak side LB in 4-3 after all. But does he have the feet to move and run? Hitchens will probably play when healthy.

M. Collins still cannot anchor and is a twitch guy first, anchor guy third. Do we have a NT size guy?

Sean Lee is the brains of the front 7. We are not world class when plays, but mental errors might be reduced.

JJ seems exicted about our 3 new guys in the back 4. While he is not a football evaluator, IMO, we should be open to playing Woods and Lewis-no headlines there.

There's plenty of people talking about wanting Romo, then saying we need to look at drafting a QB next season all the while overlooking the massive dropoff in the O-Line, EE's dropoff and how opponents have figured out how to better defend Beasley.

Growing pains for sure, but this offense around Dak is significantly worse and it's a far larger dropoff than Dak's individual dropoff.

Plays like this are incredibly frustrating. If I had to guess, I think he was looking at the blindside rush splitting the all pro OT and our backup OG right at the split second Witten flashed open, as he moves right when he'd otherwise be setting his feet. That's not an excuse, because Dak needs to make that throw regardless, and the OLs need to block better than they did there with the game on the line.

A LOT of people felt that the defense would be better in the second half from a standpoint of learning to play together. There are a LOT of new pieces and we are still trying to see how they all fit.

That's reasonable. Our Safeties have to play a lot better, whatever happens. And we need LBs who can cover something.
