Sounds like a convenient excuse for people unwilling to acknowledge the talent deficiencies on defense.

Or a reasonable explanation for a team with a lot of guys that are just learning the NFL. Lewis, Awuzie, Brown, Woods and even Frazier have talent. They just need to learn the NFL game.

These guys aren't the ones causing the problems. It's the veteran safeties and the depleted linebackers. We also have a big issue with the interior dline.

Collins certainly has not lived up to the expectations from a strong rookie year. He is not holding the line and he isn't getting much penetration. Paea has had a couple of splash plays with tackles behind the line but no consistency.

We are missing Hitchens, but really, how else are we depleted there? The guys we have are the ones that were projected there all offseason. Lee, Wilson, Smith, Durant, Wilbur. Outside of Wilson, this is what was planned on. We brought Durant back because Nzeocha just never stepped up.
