Picking 27th pick overall with no elite players available with our pick we trade down with tampa bay for their 2nd-44th, 3rd 67th, 5th 158th. With these picks, we meet all of our needs in the draft.

With tampa bays 2nd pick we take Brandon Spikes. With our 2nd rounder we take Vladimir Ducasse OT/OG.

We then get a call from either the Raiders or Seattle for their 4th and 7th rounder for Marion Barber. So, with the tampa bays 3rd rounder we take Dexter McCluster speedy rb/kickoff and punt returner.

We also get a call for Patrick Crayton, a 5th rounder, we use this pick to trade up to get a player we want.

Later we get another call from Miami for Pat McQuistan, we trade him to Miami for their 7th rounder. We use this pick later to trade up for a player in the draft too.

With our 3rd rounder we take Jason Fox OT, If Jason Fox is gone we take We take Jared Veldheer, Hillsdale, 6-8, 311, OT

With Raiders or Seattles 4th rounder we take Jacoby Ford Wr, elite punt and kickoff returner who later can turn into a elite wr.

With our 4th rounder we take Ken Chancellor safety. If Chancellor is gone we take Larry Asante or Robert Johnson, FS, Utah, 6'2", 200.

With tampa bays 5th rounder we take LeGarrette Blount RB. If Blount is gone we take Garrett Graham FB 6'4" 235 Wisconsin

With our 6th rounder we take Leigh Tiffin Kicker or Hunter Lawrence Kicker.

With Tampa Bays 7th rounder we take Clifton Geathers DE.

With Raiders or Seattles 7th rounder we take Erik Cook, C, New Mexico, 6'6", 315

With our 7th rounder we take Kelton Tindal, Newberry WR.

this was a draft with trades. Nothing more, nothing less. Next draft will be getting close to what I think the cowboys will draft after the combine.

I do think a trade or 2 will be made come draft time. Nothing really big, but some trades, possibly trading down to due to the 27th slot not possibly having a really good player there.

After combine though will be my next to last draft of what I think the cowboys will draft.

Also, remember some of you laughed at me, saying there was no way the cowboys would draft that many players, but how many players did the cowboys draft last year? 12!

What you have to do is listen to what stephen jones says in his predraft thoughts. Stephen said last year that he thought the cowboys would be better at getting multiple picks in the draft last year before the draft.

So, till after the combine and stephen jones comments on the draft will be my last 2 mock drafts.

At least you set up a make-believe trade down scenario...which makes doing it more feasible. I see some of these first round trade down mocks and wonder how someone can trade down before even knowing who will be there.

By now we all should know that Jerry and crew are at least smart enough to let the draft come to them. The may end up trading down when the time comes, but only after it looks like: 1) there will be no players remaining at that slot that are worth taking or 2) there will be mutilple palyers they like still available, so they can drop down in hope of getting one of them at a better value.

This cannot be know until the draft is in process.

Crayton is worth atleast a early 4 or late 3rd.

630 yards this season. he is the 2nd best slot WR in the NFL! and he isn't even to old yet.

People need to start appreacating him.

Well, I was not one to laugh last year.

I would, however be surprised if we did the shotgun approach to drafting in back-to-back seasons. Assuming some of the injured rookies from last season pan out, I'm not sure how many slots are availbale on this roster in the first place. Of course the jury is out (and we won't know for awhile) if ANY of last years guys will ever be stars in this league.

I just like getting higher rated, but fewer players this year that may fit our needs better....but we'll see.

There is no way crayton is worth those picks. To me a 5th is more realistic.

totally agree, with the mock drafts that i see, and what players i think will be there, i dont think personally that the penn state de or the big og that we all like or the OT from maryland will be there.

In fact, i keep hearing that this maybe one of the most tradeable drafts in the NFL for quite a while in the past. That NFL teams will be looking to trade down for players in a grouping and lower prices for their salary cap due to the possible no cap in 2011.

If OG Iupati, OT Campbell, Odrick and safety Earl Thomas arent there when we draft with the 27th pick then i do think we trade down.

I hope seriously that one of those players will be there, but I just dont see it.

So, in reality if they arent there, then your better off trading down getting multiple picks so you can take chances on players in rounds 2-4.

His consistent production out of the slot begs to differ.

2 Returns to TDS this season and consistent otherwise aswell.

Dont get me wrong i like crayton especially out of the slot. To me hes an average realiable wr, but thats about all.
His PR Tds were good but more credit should of been given to the blocking. Besides the 3-4 good returns he had (including the 2 TDs) he really didn't do much for Special teams.

He still did it. Crayton had the 2nd most yardage our of receivers for us, 3rd most overall.

Crayton is an above-average receiver (considering most teams have 5, and he is 2/5 he is better than average) RW11 is average.

Do you ever stop?

Serious, take a break from this board but not from the Internet. Use that time to research the NFL, the history of the NFL, the draft, the history of the draft, the economics of the NFL. Review past player trades and really pay attention to the value of players in past NFL trades and then tell me Crayton is worth a 3rd round pick.

Wait, never mind. You would add 3 rounds to his value just because he is a Cowboy.

Waisted time

me personally, none of them for a 3rd rounder. Way to high for any of them. 4th or 5th rounder, maybe one of them.

So we draft

Dexter McCluster, Jacoby Ford and Lagarret Blount?

:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

McCluster and Ford will be the elite punt and kickoff returners, and in some spots McCluster willbe used as the deep speedy wr to stretch the defense, while McCluster can play wr some and on 3rd down be the elite rb for razorback with choice etc if we trade barber.

Blount will be the big bruising back.

Right so Randy Moss was traded for a 4th round pick, but Crayton could be worth a low 3rd or high 4th? I agree we'll see a lot more trades this year but come on put the homerade down!

totally agree, i was the same way about barber, thinking that we could get a 2nd rounder for him, but you have to quit being homer and really look at true value of players compared to players that were traded like randy moss.

then you have to remember come draft time, its really hard to trade players for high draft picks, teams just arent going to give up their high draft picks
