Cowboys 1st round picks over the last 10 years

Just like last year it was over when Pollard got hurt. THATS why you need #1 a great Oline, and #2 a stable of 2 or 3 good backs. These one back for everything situations are a thing of the past.

They cost more, and if they get hurt your screwed. Just like last year we were screwed when Pollard got hurt. Need another quality back behind Pollard.

Pollard does his damage with less carries. You need anther good back to spell him and continue to do damage. I would also have a 3rd quality back. These scrub 3rd backs arent good enough.

Even if we drafted Bijon I would want another stud back to go with him.
LOL, sometimes I read through posts too quickly. I misunderstood your stance. I thought you were all for just going with Pollard. And I did that sober, too.

Im all about a RB by committee. 3 good backs behind a great Oline. Pollard is perfect to be one of those top 2 backs. I think it was smart to pay Pollard this one year and bring in another stud this year and maybe next year. I might even double dip and take that kind Duece in the 6th or 7th round and take 2 backs.

With the Taco pick, Jerry said, "who wants Tacos?" Everyone raised their hand and someone turned in the card.

Zeke I will never let you live down. Until the day you man up and admit you got it all horribly wrong.
Never going to happen as there is nothing for me to man up about. You are wrong as usual about me.

I don’t believe Parsons was drafted as a day one starter.
First of all, he wasn’t used as a DE in college, so hardly anyone knew just what he could do other than blitz from the LB spot. Second, we were in it for a CB….I seriously doubt that he was drafted with the expectation that he would start over LVE, but moreso that he could blitz and develop as a LB.
That kinda proves his point though. The team was locked into a CB with the expectation for them to start opposite Diggs. Parsons was the pick only after Horn and Surtain were off the board.

The team does draft many more day one starter types than projects outside of Taco.

Everyone knows how wrong you were. No sense in lying about it.

What was I wrong about? AS usual you got nothing. I could name 10 things minimum you said that you got dead wrong. Let me know if you want the list.

Yah I think we both know LVE was never a pro bowler. Jones had one good year, his contract year. If you dont get a 2nd contract your definitely a disappointment for the team. LVE is has been a solid starter, nothing more. The rest of those guys all turned out much better.
Player makes an all pro and a pro bowl, you cannot discredit that simply because you don’t agree

Case by case basis. Is this your only angle? Are you arguing that LVE has lived up to his first round status?

We declined his 5th year option and resigned him to 5 million a year ago.

To me LVE has underperformed his first round status.

He has gotten 2 different contracts from us beyond his rookie deal. While making a probowl and an all pro team. I will take that from a late round 1st round pick anyday

LVE made an all pro team? LOL When did THAT happen?

LVE is a solid starter, nothing more. Whatever he may have seemed his rookie year he is no more or was a false.

There you go calling people liars again. Stop.

2018 all pro team
Is that the same year the great Jaylo Smith made the pro bowl?

That must have been a charity year. Both guys went downhill after that year. Personally I was shocked either made the pro bowl.

Name a player here who was NOT expected to start day one other than Taco. In other words, they draft 1st round players with the expectation they will start on day one. We do not have returning starts at TE, RB, CB or LG. Just me, but I'm 100% confident we will fill one of these positions with 26.

I’m a little confused by what the you are saying. A CB won’t start here day 1 So that goes against what you are saying. Even if you want to say a CB will start in the nickel and a 3rd CB is like a starter it really isn’t here because we go 3 safeties a lot more than 3 CBs.

8-1. Not bad. Haters are gonna hate it. Good. It’s great to see them triggered.

Taco Charleton and Trystan Hill were both Marinellis picks.

So glad that bum is gone
Tristen Hill isn’t on the list. You need glasses are just trying to change the narrative? Rhetorical question.

One of the Top 10 Most Outrages Takes ever made here. And trust me, THAT’S SAYING ALOT!!!!!!!

Taco truly is the outlier; I think Marinnelli was using voodoo in the draft room that day

LVE is the second; tied maybe with Jones. But both gave excellent service for at least a few seasons so maybe not.

I do not know why the Boys are so incredible in the first round and then quickly sink towards mediocrity after that.
They don’t. They are one of the best drafting teams ever since Will McClay came on board. I know you’re a big time hater. But jeez, don’t look so bad being that.

I agree completely. We need a balanced attack and a strong run game. It's a no brainer that we need RB by committee. Can't risk ruining the season just because a back goes down. I could be wrong, but it worked well for the Giants between 2007 and 2011. I don't remember any other team utilizing that before then. But like I said, I could have forgotten someone.
