8-1. Not bad. Haters are gonna hate it. Good. It’s great to see them triggered.
So we are taking a win for selecting Vander Esch as a top 20 pick in the draft? Interesting. Since his first year I see a "3rdish" round talent

Just shows you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Name a player here who was NOT expected to start day one other than Taco. In other words, they draft 1st round players with the expectation they will start on day one. We do not have returning starts at TE, RB, CB or LG. Just me, but I'm 100% confident we will fill one of these positions with 26.

Taco did get to be on a team that went to the Super Bowl. 2019 no.1 pick was traded for Amari Cooper that would have been the best trade of the Jerry Dumbo GM Jones era. But he gave a Pro Bowl WR away swapping 5th round picks. So it goes down as another Jerry Dumbo GM Jones bad deal.

Will McClay should be the GM.

No. I'm good with my stance. If you watched how LVE has played other than his rookie year and think he looks like a top 20 pick you have no idea what you are watching. And it's pretty clear every single NFL team agrees with me. He signed a 1 year $2M contract last year as a free agent. Any team could have had him for a reasonable amount but no one wanted him. Even on his new deal this year he is making only $4M per. More telling, he didn't have his 5th year option picked up. for a top 20 pick that's an absolute sign of regret

That’s because of his injury history, not his play. He had a great year last year and it showed when he missed those 3 games. The team made it a priority to resign him and for good reason. Quinn knows much more than the likes of you.

Vander Esch didn't have a great year. Unless you're changing the definition of great.

He had a hey, he doesn't suck like last season year.

He had a pretty good year. But, again, if you think he had a "great" year you are delusional or you mean a great year "for him" which just proves he isn't a great player. He's a decent player. NFL average for a starting LB I'd say. Glad to have him. Not top 20 quality

I don’t care what draft pick he’s equal to and never claimed so. You lost the argument so are trying to change what I said. That’s pretty pathetic .

What a weird flex to attempt to claim "victory" and now twisting the entire point of the discussion which is was LVE a good pick at #19 overall and funnier yet, pretending I'm the one changing the argument. Man, this board...

You said this: "8-1. Not bad. Haters are gonna hate it. Good. It’s great to see them triggered."
I disagreed and here we are. Bottom line If you think he was a good top 20 overall pick you are utterly clueless. And that is what this thread is all about. Carry on

One of the Top 10 Most Outrages Takes ever made here. And trust me, THAT’S SAYING ALOT!!!!!!!
Repeating what I’ve read. Why do you think he dropped that low in the draft? No one knew he was that impactful as a DE. The general consensus is that he’d be the #1 pick in the draft in a redraft of that year, first positional player outside of QB. Teams don’t pass on a generational pass rusher for 4 QBs, only 1 who is special, a TE, 3 WRs, 2 CBs, and an OT.

“There was no denying that Parsons had the physical attributes to play at the next level, but there were questions of where, exactly, he would play on defense.

Parsons was seldom used as a pass rusher at Penn State, notching 6 1/2 sacks over 26 games played. That said, Parsons was a five-star recruit as an outside linebacker, receiving offers from Penn State, Alabama, Florida, Baylor and Clemson, among others.”

Only one washout among the 9 selections - very commendable efforts by the scouting deparment + front office.

We tend to be jinxed with the later first round picks. Granted no one could have predicted Fredrick's illness but the end result was the same. Hopefully Lamb and Smith are the start of a new trend. If a TE is the lowest risk pick at 26 that actually might still be on the team after six seasons I'm fine with that. If he can block and catch it would help the offense in two ways. I get that next year's pick usually gets downgraded by a round but you could call Cooper a first round pick.
Agree...I'm starting to warm to a TE at 26 although TYPICALLY as we all know we can get a very good TE in 3/4th round. Witten was a 3rd rounder and there is good depth this year at that position in the draft. Kid from Iowa, kid from Utah, kid from Oregon....yeah. I think we wait until 3rd round the more I ponder it. Need a Guard at 26 or a DT there. Wouldn't be a horrible idea to trade down if a good deal is there to be made.
