WR 2023:
1) CeeDee
2) OBJ ..?
3) Gallup
4) Tolbert ?
5) Draft Pick ?
6) Turpin
7) Noah B.

- i dunno about this team carrying seven WRs, but i believe we've done so before at one time.
and while Turpin is purely a specialist, he's still technically a roster count as a WR.

- And it has got to be asked (as per every year) - Will Noah Brown again make this roster as a valuable utility guy ?
It's gotten to a point that it's hard to count him out.
No matter who the special teams coach, WR coach, OC or Head Coach is ... they always seem to value Noah very much as a must have special teams/utility player.
I only listed 5 WRs.

They normally carry 6 but they have carried 7 for portions of seasons.

They had 7 on the initial cut to 53 in 2022. They end the season with 6.

“Alarcon’s program” hasn’t got Alarcon on the field yet!
That's not the program's fault. That's Isaac's issue.

If the league gives you an extra spot for measly dollars to add additional developmental talent why wouldn't you do it? It's not like the coaches don't have time to work with another player?

It wouldn't surprise me that players who join on this program are far more willing to listen, and focus on making the football team. I haven't heard of a single player on this program who has been arrested. Crashing his car into other citizens, raping or abusing women or just being a locker room cancer.

If there is legitimate talent on foreign soil you gotta take a look IMO. This league is a league predicated on physical talent first in the early stages.

Isaac's issue seems to be more mental and experiential.

If you want to catch lightning in a bottle you have to have the courage to stick your bottle out first.

Exactly, and I think Matsui is someone who would benefit from the International Program. I think he seems to have the desire to push himself to what we'd want. He just won a championship with his current team. He has a nose for getting open. I think Matsui would very much benefit from playing. Plus, giving him some coaching and, perhaps, using the Japanese X-League as a way to sort of help him develop more into an NFL way with some NFL coaching can be good. Sort of like how an English Football club loans a player out to a lesser league to develop them. Or, they could have him in our training room. Either works, and I think he'd do well with it.

CeeDee
OBJ
Gallup
Jalen Tolbert
Draft Pick

I think Tolbert still has a chance to become as good a pre-injury Gallup.

Gallup should be better in 2023; although, I don't know how much better.

A savvy veteran like OBJ (if healthy) is exactly what they needed in 2022.

I want the Tennessee receiver. Guy has top speed and that's what Dallas needs. No more 4.5 4.6. receivers!! I want the 4.3- 4.2's or better.

Physically i agree it is a complete gamble upon OBJ, coming str8 off ACL injury.. i still cannot believe the mad, thrown dart in the dark flirtation with him - (with no workout) ..
and unlike Gallup, Beck did not even play in '22 to try work back into play mode.
So he will still need to prove he is capable of regaining is previous form.
That's one of the reasons why i'd propose an incentive laden, clause contract with him, .but he may be in that Gregory camp mode of the " da heck with that,.. next bidders please. "

- Cooks has never been All pro, Pro Bowl WR, but still has the reputation as one of the premiere speed WRs in the NFL,.
But he's been thru several teams too. His enormous contract would pose a big problem with both trading partners.
and Texans would be subject to an enormous cap hit as well.

- During their draft class, supposedly the only WR the Cowboys had on their value board that was higher than CeeDee Lamb was Jerry Jeudy. ...

- I won't say give up Jalen Tolbert either ... but i certainly am not bypassing WR this offseason, for the sake of Tolbert either.
If he vastly improves and shows progress., he becomes a luxury pick and terrific quality depth.

- Ditto with Gallup, and not bypassing WR for the sake of Gally " hopefully" recovered and regaining previous form. At the least, we'd hold onto him
until we can exercise that opt-out to lessen the blow of a cap casualty, if he does not
That’s why Cooks and Juedy are my
preferences.

I’d also check in on Michael Thomas if he’s healthy. Apparently the new O will be a lot of slants and he’s the slant king.

The concept of that program is that it will require multiple years to develop the international player.

McGovern took about 3 years and he was not even a small school player.

Alarcon has been on the ps for 3 years. That's the expected time frame for international players.

So if he doesn’t make the 53 next year…

I stopped at OBJ.
I'm sure there are plenty of other savvy veteran receivers or at least one or two who have less big injury mileage with a better head on their shoulders that could help develop the young receivers while giving some production at the position.

Kupp is a 4.6 guy. It's not about speed, though we do need a nasty deep threat.

Report back to Cowboys Zone 7 months from now - week 1 of the season - and let the members know how well your WR foresight turned out.

FA targets at WR (we need route runners, pick 1):

Seasoned Vets to check out:

* OBJ
* TY Hilton
* Landry

Other FA:

* Parris Campbell
* Greg Dortch (#1 target if they let him become an unrestricted before FA)

Then draft one.
