CeeDee
OBJ
Gallup
Jalen Tolbert
Draft Pick

I think Tolbert still has a chance to become as good a pre-injury Gallup.

Gallup should be better in 2023; although, I don't know how much better.

A savvy veteran like OBJ (if healthy) is exactly what they needed in 2022.

If we're going to get OBJ to solve our problems, I would rather just get T.Y. back..

The thought of giving OBJ big money and him not being what he used to be terrifies me. We already have 1 overpaid WR that is a #3 at best…If we’re gonna splash I’d much rather it be more of a safer bet like Cooks / Juedy.

Wonder if any other good WRs might be available via trade?

I’m also not giving up on Tolbert. He was a very good prospect and sometimes it just takes a little time. He was also given like zero opportunity.

I think Simi finally makes the final roster again next year, but will contribute. Just my hunch. He was out there this year, and even getting open on several plays. Dak just never threw to him.

I'm not sure if Tolbert can make the leap.

If you won't trade of Cooks/Hopkins, then you are looking at Beckman and the draft without any elite receivers in the group.
No Cooks. No Hopkins. No Beckman. There are some solid vets and draft picks available that will do the job.

The FAs available are on a tier below these guys.

We could go the cheap route but it likely won’t move the needle enough.

Keenan Allen is actually who i had compared CeeDee Lamb to.

Neither are top end explosive or speedy, but they have a smooth gait and body control to their game.

Perfect fit opposite Lamb ? Not Imo,.. we need a more explosive speed element to our WR unit.
Not another shoulder to shoulder ball contested WR..

A fully ACL recovered OJ Beckham would be a better fit, imo. cuz of his vertical- over the top dimension and Yards After Catch skills.
Catch 22 .is usually you have to have that ACL player play a full season in trying to regain previous form and OJB has spent the
'22 season completely on the mend.

I can see this team snatching Hopkins or Thomas once they are released. I would much rather Hopkins mainly due to the fact he has a large catch radius. Which helps this QB.

We know nothing about Tolbert other than that the staff didn't think he was worthy of seeing the field pretty much at all. That's going to suddenly change in year 2?

Realistic expectation is more of a backup role for him, perhaps 4th or 5th receiver. Small schooled player, with a big learning curve.

Physically i agree it is a complete gamble upon OBJ, coming str8 off ACL injury.. i still cannot believe the mad, thrown dart in the dark flirtation with him - (with no workout) ..
and unlike Gallup, Beck did not even play in '22 to try work back into play mode.
So he will still need to prove he is capable of regaining is previous form.
That's one of the reasons why i'd propose an incentive laden, clause contract with him, .but he may be in that Gregory camp mode of the " da heck with that,.. next bidders please. "

- Cooks has never been All pro, Pro Bowl WR, but still has the reputation as one of the premiere speed WRs in the NFL,.
But he's been thru several teams too. His enormous contract would pose a big problem with both trading partners.
and Texans would be subject to an enormous cap hit as well.

- During their draft class, supposedly the only WR the Cowboys had on their value board that was higher than CeeDee Lamb was Jerry Jeudy. ...

- I won't say give up Jalen Tolbert either ... but i certainly am not bypassing WR this offseason, for the sake of Tolbert either.
If he vastly improves and shows progress., he becomes a luxury pick and terrific quality depth.

- Ditto with Gallup, and not bypassing WR for the sake of Gally " hopefully" recovered and regaining previous form. At the least, we'd hold onto him
until we can exercise that opt-out to lessen the blow of a cap casualty, if he does not

WR 2023:
1) CeeDee
2) OBJ ..?
3) Gallup
4) Tolbert ?
5) Draft Pick ?
6) Turpin
7) Noah B.

- i dunno about this team carrying seven WRs, but i believe we've done so before at one time.
and while Turpin is purely a specialist, he's still technically a roster count as a WR.

- And it has got to be asked (as per every year) - Will Noah Brown again make this roster as a valuable utility guy ?
It's gotten to a point that it's hard to count him out.
No matter who the special teams coach, WR coach, OC or Head Coach is ... they always seem to value Noah very much as a must have special teams/utility player.

- If we sign on OBJ, a high round draft pick 1st to 3rd rd) is Not very likely ... if there's a WR drafted this year, my guess is by draft board value, he'll be intent
as a Cedrick Wilson developmental type project in mid to late rounds,

- And of course if we do not manage to make a huge FA signing or trade for that splash WR,.. that means this team is 100% depending upon
rebounding WRs ala Gallup and Tolbert making a huge turnaround difference, .. or it's gonna come down to another Tolbert like draftee gamble in the 2nd or 3rd rd.,..imo.
