After resigning our own guys, we really don't have much cap room IMO.

We may not even be able to sign all of Lawrence, Dak, Zeke, Cooper, Jaylon and Jones with the space we have.

You would think there is. Let’s see what we do with this Cap space over the next year or three before getting to excited.

It’s been 23 years, not even a divisional round win in the playoffs. Pathetic!

For many fans, me included, it’s about winning Superbowls.

you can see it through whatever glasses you choose, its not an illusion if you realize the rest of the teams in the top 5 is going to be going through the same things so its what it actually is, we are young, we've been winning, now have money to keep our players, plus add afew , and if you add good drafting the past 5 years we are in great shape..

that is unless you are like a majority on this forum and see it through negative hate glasses and keep looking back 25 years instead of forward. well live in that pessimistic mind frame , too each their own but this current team and organization has a solid future as of now..

are there issues sure but other teams have issues as well..

I hear a lot of talk about how high everybody’s expectations are each offseason. Followed up by very little appetite to discuss the factors that actually limit us. I know it’s easy to blame the coach and QB when the alternatives are a lot trickier and less likely to change, but the issues in Dalls go back a lot farther than 9 years. They go all the way back to 1996.

How bout we keep the conversation on what’s actually broken before crowing about how high our standards are right now?

He just called you a toddler.

I completely disagree. A smart team builds through the draft and uses Free Agency to pickup 2-3 key veterans to help possibly put your team over the top. NE does it every year. Philly did it two years ago. Stephen comes right out and says, we are not in the Free Agent market. Last year they went on vacation during the start of Free Agency.

You respect the ability of this disfunctional organization to much.

    Yes we do

We have over 80m in easy Cap Space right now and only DLaw has to be signed this year

We have over 130m in Cap Space next year before rollover

A monkey could fit all these players under the cap and still go on a FA frenzy

There must be some balance between cap hell and cap heaven. Purgatory I suppose. I wouldn't mortgage the future for one SB but that's just me. Personally, I'm signing my own FA's and young guys like Prescott and Zeke who are known commodities HERE not on another team. I prefer the devil known to the devil not known. It's Sunday and I haven't confessed in years :)

There are 3 ways to build a team

    Draft....... Free Agents.......Trades

they all need to be used..... recent Champs and Challengers like the Pats, Eagles, Rams, Chiefs, Seahawks and Broncos have went big in FA and Trades that added to some homegrown talent

Dallas, Pitts, GB and NO rely mainly on the Draft with some Trades..... if they spent a bit on FA they would have more success imo

I’m not crowing at all about the high expectations of this organization and the fans. This organization and many of the fans have WAY to low of expectations!

Jerry needs to raise his expectations! #1 thing he can do to prove he has raised his expectations is fire Garrett!

DAL is in good shape with respect to the Cap because it has gone up almost 70m in the last 6 years

At the same time we have cut our 4 or 5 biggest stars..... including Romo, Ware, Dez, Claiborne, Murray

We have completely ignored FA except for backups and bargain bins.... we have become one of the cheapest teams even though our revenues dwarf everyone else

It is time to loosen the purse strings and go all in

We need a FS, a DT, a ST and a SAM LB.....could use a TE and another WR

With all this talk, I think you should make that trip to church. Would be good for your soul.

What's your stance on one, big-money splurge, say $10 million a year for three years of Earl Thomas? Yay or nay?

You're hired. Now sign Tank and Prescot/ Zeke who both want extensions. And don't forget Cooper. Then Byron Jones, Gregory, Collins 1 and Collins 2 in 2020 and on and on. Yes sure, let the players who we know walk and sign aging FA's. Show me the money for 2020 and beyond. Some forethought is required to run a business. Not saying there aren't some less expensive options in FA that will help

This chart and stats are cool, I guess, but they ain't won shxt. After re-signing their own high priced players this little chart will mean nothing.

Yes, DAL is doing something right, finally, in the FO (thanks Will) but they have to finish.

You know that answer. I've given my prediction on ET many times. Not with emotion, with thought. Ain't gonna happen. Should it happen? Not IMO

I forgot, it's hard to keep track of who stands where.

I'll respectfully disagree. I think it does happen.

We'll see in a few short weeks!

Cool man, we can disagree. I won't say "I told you so" when it doesn't happen ;). I like playing devils advocate, another church reference

Oh no, please do. I'm fine with being wrong about it, because I know I'll be giddy and crowing about it if I'm on the other side.

Of course there is a balance between Cap hell and Cap heaven. Use NE’s model. They trust their player personnel Dept., trade for key players when need be, and buy a few key Free Agents.

I personally would like to win a Superbowl and possibly lose a player or 2. Then trust player personnel Dept. to replenish the losses.
