Twitter: Cowboys admit they mishandled WR

Does this mean they plan on doing things differently in 2023, or does this mean they think they are good at the position now that Gallup had has his injury year in the rearview, and Tolbert has another year to develop?

I'd love to see them go after a DJ Chark type. Most projections I've seen seem to have him in the 3 year/$30MM range. That shouldnt break the bank, he's a guy with a and Gallup has an easy out on his contract after this season if he doesn't get back to form, or if a receiver like Chark or Tolbert steps up and fills the #2 role.

So, what he is saying is: Yeah, we screwed up last year; this year we will do the exact same thing, but it's OK, because Gallup will magically come back into form and Tolbert--the guy who couldn't even crack the field last year--is a year older.

These guys are absolute morons that don’t learn from their mistakes. These same bozos tried in trotting out Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson 2018-19 as starters before having to trade a 1st round pick mid-season for Amari Cooper (then trading for a 5th rounder, smh). Relying on Gallup to microwave his rehab and be a heavy contributor last year was simply braindead.

Any fan with two brain cells could tell you this was bound to fail.

It’s precisely what they’ll do. They’ll say they’re confident Gallup will come back improved having more distance from the surgery.

This^^^^^^ probably still add a vet but I think he is saying their expectations last were a bit much ( Gallup and Tolbert ? But expects impact contributions this season. In other words, this doesn't lead me to beilve WR will be high on theior draft list.

They still never figured out the best way to use Pollard.

That was worse than the WR problems.

Our best player on offense was just used like he was a traditional weapon.

The guy is Christian McCaffrey and the Cowboys acted like he was just a backup.

LOL. So many of us pointed this out in August, that they were short at WR and expecting Gallup to have no effects coming off knee surgery and Tolbert being able to step in and perform was downright stupid.

Of course the homers lost their crap and told us we were haters, dumb, didn't understand football, etc. At some point people on this board need to realize that the fans might be as smart as Jerry and his offspring when it comes to roster building.

Can't wait for the August camp scene when Stephen is in his bucket hat in the hot Oxnard sun telling us how much healthier Gallup is and how Tolbert really impressed in offseason workouts and how they are jazzed and pumped about the WR they took in the 4th round.

Edit: Actually, they'll probably throw too much cash at OBJ. It seems clear that Jerry is obsessed with him and when that happens, Jerry can get crazy. I wish he would get obsessed with elite DTs.
