Would you give your paycheck back to your employer if you missed a deadline, called in sick, or any other reason?
It never happens in any industry, and it never will.
But you agree that a player should get a raise when all he has done is do the job that he is paid for? Do your job and nothing more and it equals a raise . Don't do your job and get overpaid, keep the money anyway. That system is a little screwed up. Contracts should be where teams are covered to allow players that deserve it to get there more and those that don't live up to expectations are not overpayed. It will never happen, but it is fair.
