I heard on the ticket this morning that jerry had contractors in there at 7 the day after the game installing the wench system to lower and raise the screen at will.

It also was confirmed from people taking the tour on Sunday.

Jerry is so funny.

"Chemistry doesn't matter! Nothing in the locker room affects the games!"

*cuts TO, Pacman, and Tank*

The video board is high enough! I'm not moving it!

*gets contractors out first thing Monday morning to raise Jerrytron*

Hopefully these contractors are not affiliated with the ones that put up the practice dome,,,,

That's what I was thinking. No rush, just do it right. I'm sure he is at peace with it; he got his 3 days of news on the new stadium and then some.

Can you expound on this? Was this a poster here who said this? Someone you know?

Just curious where the information is coming from and when it was said. The post was semi-cryptic.

I thought that the "there's no reason to move it" was intended to get the league to pony up for some of the added cost...made sense to me. The league approved it as-is, so if they're going to mandate a change, they should take a little bit of crap for it too.

Not quite following. If it took a month, then how could they play their home games? They play the 49ers this Saturday and then they would have three weeks to the Giants game.

The guy called Sirius radio and said he worked for the company that made the winches. He said the parts were shipped last week and they would start construction this week. He said it would take a month to finish because they can only work certain days because of games and other planned things at the stadium. They will just move the equipment out and come back after.

If I am guessing, they probably intended on it being at a fixed height. When signing acts (i.e. U2) requested more space under the megatron, they developed a system to vary the height. So the system to enable adjusting it has probably been in the works for some time now.

Pure speculation on my part but it would make sense.

if the parts were ordered last week, it takes a month to do, and U2 plays in October,,, I'm guessing this has nothing to do with the whines and complaints from the peanut gallery and everything to do with Jerry being able to adjust the Jerrytron for specific engagements,,

Jerry isn't installing this because of the game. It was reported before the game that the devices were going to be installed. I bet he still wants it at 90 feet.

I hope Jerry installs the winches and still keeps the board at 90 feet for games until the league makes a new rule governing the height of things overhanging the field thus forcing everyone else to comply as well.
