Jerry is so funny.

The video board is high enough! I'm not moving it!

I see your point, CL, but you jumped the gun a little on this one. I read last week (before the game) that the contractors were to be in there this week to install the mechanism to raise and lower the video board.

I hope Jerry installs the winches and still keeps the board at 90 feet for games until the league makes a new rule governing the height of things overhanging the field thus forcing everyone else to comply as well.

Everyone else like who?

Almost 3/4 of the league plays outdoors.

Hopefully these contractors are not affiliated with the ones that put up the practice dome,,,,

the contractors had nothing to do with the dome, it will be found that a micro burst in the area was the cause, act of mother nature..

There are several stadiums with varying objects hanging over the field that are lower than 90 feet. This has been reported numerous times during the whole discussion. Also, the cameras on the ziplines are lower than 90 feet. Gotta move them as well.

Then why was Jerry so defiant in insisting the board was fine as is?

That's good. They can raise it when we punt and lower it to the league minimum when our opponents are on the field.

He drives me friggen nuts with this BS, why the hell he cant just cant come out and call a spade a spade is beyond me.

I think he blew a prime opportunity to use the TO release to motivate existing players by stating publicly that no job was safe instead of his typical spin and Romo friendly nonsense

If it's true that the winch won't be operational for another month, then it could simply be a reaction to the notion that 90 feet is unacceptable for any further preseason or regular season games whatsoever.

Are you questioning the validity of the statement or just wondering why JJ was being defiant. If you don't believe it was already planned, too bad. If it's the latter, there was an informative post earlier today regarding a couple of reasons being discussed on the radio. I apologize but I looked for it to post the link and couldn't find it.

It was/is ridiculous. People on the sports talk radio were acting like it stopped the game for 30 min. They were saying that Jerry just "had to get it raised" or the whole tempo and complexion of the game would be changed.

I was thinking: Isn't it just a re-kick?

Good Lord! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'd like to hear of them.

I posted a list of teams who played outside in another thread. I also included about 4-5 other teams who play in retractable roof stadiums who don't have anything anything like Dallas.

There were a few teams I left off the list because I didn't have enough time. Just knew they played in real domes and passed em.

Think New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit and Indy were the ones I didn't get to.

No, I wasn't questioning you. I was wondering why Jerry can't just admit he was wrong. Why not just laugh and say, "Well, there will always be a few bugs in a project of this magnitude, but we've already got people scheduled to come fix it on Monday."

But no, he had to deflect and deny, just like when Pacman screwed up and he had to blame the bodyguard, of all people. Or when he repeatedly denied that locker room chemistry meant anything despite Wade, Bradie, Ware, and Witten among others saying it does.

Does it really matter?

Whatever he does in life obviously makes him a very rich, successful person. If blowing people full of smoke while he works behind the scenes to fix problems does it for him, who cares.
