When he first got the start, I saw a lot of sports writers bagging on him, saying he was overrated, that we were winning in spite of him and that Connor Williams should get the start, in spite of the uptick in offense since he's been plugged in at LG.

But go look at the Eagles game.

Part of the reason they were allowed to do so much offensively, albeit not in the red zone, is because Dak had a lot of time on the left side, or at least he had space to work.

And Zeke had places to run.. behind Su'a-Filo.

The only part of Su'a-Filo's game that was a little weak was on the bull rush, but he's still able to hang in there.

Starting him over Connor Williams is a no-brainer at this point.. He may be good one day, but Su'a-Filo is playing lights out for Dallas in the sense that he makes the offensive unit better and more productive.

I'm not saying he's perfect. I'm saying he's a good fit for what we do, and a better fit than Williams right now/this year.

I wouldn't say lights out because he has been blown up and given up sacks and pressures

He's better than Connor Williams at this point.

And he is playing lights out, for the most part.

Not perfect.. But go watch him in the Eagles game.

All players have bad plays and games, even.. But he had a great game against the Eagles. And offensive production is up when he's in there.

The front office deserves credit for the moves they made to shore up the line this offseason. Think of how many games where reserves have stepped in and done at least an adequate job this season, then think back to last year where a Tyron Smith injury meant an automatic loss. (same goes for Lee/VDE)

Maybe it looks that way but it could be change in coaching and technique, not actually because of the change in players.

It probably will change over time. I'm saying now might not be the time to tamper with the chemistry or make changes to a good thing.

He's a more flexible player and his ability gives you more options.

I'm not saying I'm giving up hope on the rookie. I'm saying it makes more sense to play Su'a-Filo because his game is coming on. He's tough, and scrappy and has a motor like a defensive tackle and he, along with Cooper, is making this offense better.

They also are undeated..

when I throw up in the 4th Qt and turn off the TV to calm down.

from all of the mistakes.

I turn it back on after 5 minutes..

They then straighten out and we win.

My cats can then come out of hiding from all the shouting.

Which do you think is the charm?

Throwing up?

Or switching off the TV?

Or the cats hiding..?

Or cursing like a salty sailor while the TV is off before I turn it back on?

I say all four.

I am sure some of you have similar Goodluck rituals.

One thing that I saw in this past game with the game still in doubt the Cowboys had Martin out and Cowboys still over came that and put up 3 TD 2 in regulation and 1 in OT. While Philly has issues in the secondary they don't have issues on the DL.
Honestly, this is a time where I'll praise Dak. He got the ball out quicker after that, because he anticipated the rush better.

If you go watch the Eagles game, you will see what I'm talking about.. Not one play. Don't give me that nonsense.

Go watch the entire game, and you will see Su'a-Filo was contributing in a big way out there.

I watched the game, and just focused on his play, fast forwarded the defensive and ST plays, and he's not only not as big as a liability as Williams, his play actually makes us better
– on most plays.

He's great on the running game, but smart in passing too.... Biggest two things are his high motor, like a d-lineman, and he's a smart, crafty player.

I don't doubt that at all. He has done a good job. I just pointed out that Looney, Su'a-Filo and Williams were all in there mid way through the 4th and held up very well vs a very good DL in Philly and Cowboys were able to put up points at a very critical part of the game. Hats off to all of them.

Yeah, that's a good point..we need that kind of durability.

We also have to consider the unit has been playing banged up and has had to make adjustments.

Looney is also playing pretty well, but that should be obvious.

That last one was before Eagles game so Xaviers stats are going to be even worse than that.

We should all hope and pray Martin comes back quick so we can move XSF to the bench and get Williams in there.

Xavier was by far our worst player against the Eagles. Good thing we have Dak and company

True but it is a bit easier for Looney when he has Martin next to him, when Martin went out you had what really was 3 backups in the middle of the OL and they did a very good job.
