Cowboys are a bad match up for the Giants

2 bad games, an average one and one where he torched the Cowboys. Not exactly a big sample size to go by.
They are an indicator. It's not like he's an eight year vet yet.

Oh, he's a good receiver...but can be hindered if the #2 WR and TE aren't making much of a wave.

Eli has some big games against us. Spagnuolo is a good DC, especially when he has talent along the DL-- and they added some decent pieces to the D in the offseason.

That said-- their LBs are a weak link and I just don't see how they can consistently slow our running game. I think it will be a pretty feisty dog fight for the first half-- but I think our OL and ground game wears them down in the 2nd half and we win by 10+ points.

Im not sure how starting a rookie QB against a divisional rival gives us an advantage. I think the Giants walk away with this one.

I have no idea how Dak will play, but it would be hard to be worse than Matt Cassel was last year. That was the game where he had 3 picks, one of them a pick-6, we got the early TD to McFadden taken off the board because of a questionable blocking foul on Devin Street, and still had a chance to win or tie the game with two drives at the end of regulation until Beasley blew it with the turnover on ST. All that, and Dez was on the sidelines.

As bad as the QB play was last season, we had a lot of different things conspiring against us that got us beat week-in, week-out. That stuff needs to be fixed for Dak to have any chance at all. We'll find out whether or not we'll still snakebit here in about 3 more days.

I cant see this defense keeping us in it. We all hate Eli, but we underrate him a bit as a pocket passer, they got a good squad of WRs. He shouldnt be getting too much pressure from this defense
We have this thing called a pretty dominate offensive line along with some playmakers

Eli has had good games vs us, but not last year. He had 363 yards and 0 TDs in the 2 games combined.

This dline is absolutely soft. Outside TCraw, who hasnt reached that level we know he can yet, theres not 1 body playing Sunday thats proven ANYTHING.

Again, where are they SOFT. So they just stand there and get run over? And what has the Giants d as a whole together proven? Or that they are the '85 Bears.

Let them stack the box. They don't have a very good secondary and they will be torched. This game ain't going to be close Dallas by 14. Elliot,Dak and Morris are going to run them over so badly and with time of possession that defense will be gassed going into the fourth.

wholeheartedly agree! this is not going to be a good look for the giants. i think giants will have garbage time points.

Yah... we held him in check pretty well last year. I am hoping with Scandrick coming back, Mo looking hungry and healthy, Carr flipping to RCB, and Jones patrolling at FS we can keep him off his game.

You haven't been paying attention. At DT we have improved since last year. Although they will be going against Ny's best O linemen I still feel up the middle we can get pressure on them.

Were so thin at DE that Craw might be playing DE. Cedric has proven nothing yet, and who on DE are you hyping? Mayowa? Lol Irving? Who are these proven DEs you speak of?

Not sure what you are talking about. I never mentioned DE's I was talking about our DT's being improved.

I think there could very well be quite a few unhappy campers around here come Sunday night. As special as Dak looks, Dallas is still starting two rookies, never before played at this level, in skill positions, the very first game of the season.

Now add to this a defense that most likely couldn't start for most of the top ten rated defenses in college ball, and what do you have?

With sights on a new future come growing pains.

I'm surprised by the amount of optimism in here, I get it, we're all happy to have football back, but if I'm being objective, I don't have a good feeling about this game on Sunday. Dak looked great in preseason, but I don't take a whole lot from the preseason. The guy is still a 4th round rookie with a bad defense, going to be tough to win games.
