Dak is missing the long deep passing pin point accuracy that many Super Bowl quarters backs have had. If if can get the long pass accuracy down, it will change Cowboy's the game completely if the receivers and offensive line Do Their Duty.

Truth be told, Aikman wasn’t accurate on on deep throws, which is why Harper was valuable to go up and over defenders to either catch it or make sure it didn’t get intercepted. Of course Aikman was deadly accurate on short and intermediate routes. With Dak it will still be a matter of development. He seemed highly accurate on short and intermediate throws as a rookie, but the accuracy fell off in year two.

Thus, it's not a coincidence the Cowboys' offensive performance suffered when he served a six-game suspension from Weeks 10 to 15. During that span, the Cowboys' offense not only averaged 6.1 fewer points (from 24.4 to 18.3) but fewer total yards (from 354.7 to 294.0), rushing yards (from 144.2 to 121.3) and passing yards (from 210.5 to 172.7) when compared with the 10 games Zeke played.
The Cowboys' offense averaged 6.1 fewer points without Zeke, and 20.3 fewer points without both Smith and Martin.

SCORING

with all 5 starting OL playing most of game
300 points on 111 drives (2.70 points per drive)
28.4 points per game
without
40 points on 52 drives (0.77 points per drive)
8.1 points per game

with Zeke
237 points on 103 drives (2.30 points per drive)
24.2 points per game
without
103 points on 60 drives (1.72 points per drive)
18.1 points per game

Points per drive translated into points per game in a game with a typical (for Dallas) number of drives.

We need the w rs that can back a defense off. We don't have them and I don't think Deonte is a player that can do it either.

We also need a less predictable offense and guys who can take short passes the distance.

It isn't all on Dak.

What choice do they have?

If there is even the slimmest chance that you can snag your next franchise QB with a 4th round pick, you'd be an idiot not to give him every possible opportunity to succeed once he's shown any promise at all.

thats so gracious of you. I mean Qbs come out of the gate and just explode on the scene and never have down years. very astute of you to pick up on that.

RGIII exploded in a similar way got injured and then faded. Dak wasn't very good last year in the 2nd half and his inefficiencies were amplified with Zeke's absence. If Zeke is 100% heathy next year and he struggles there will be changes all over including at the QB position.

Yep and if he can turn it around, look at the plum of picking a franchise QB in the 4th round. Booger and crew get the same glory as the Pats with Brady and the Niners with Montana.

I don’t know if that’s a driver or not - with Jerry it may well be. But there still really isn’t a choice. They have to let Dak have another year to see how he develops.

No question it's a driver with Booger as that's a stamp of approval on Football Man.

They didn't have any choice when they let the mantle fall to Dak and released Romo. They have no choice but to be all in on Dak, as they should be. This is a make it or break it year for a lot of Cowboys, Dak, Linehan and maybe Garrett.

Part of one game isn’t much to base statistics on. Not that I wouldn’t agree that having Martin out hurts, especially with Smith out too.
I was lazy to count whole games instead of individual drives. This is down to the drive. It's actually 6.1 fewer points without Zeke, and 14.9 fewer points without the OL starters.

SCORING
with all 5 starting OL
300 points on 115 drives (2.61 points per drive)
27.5 points per game
without
40 points on 48 drives (1.20 points per drive)
12.6 points per game

with Zeke
237 points on 103 drives (2.30 points per drive)
24.2 points per game
without
103 points on 60 drives (1.72 points per drive)
18.1 points per game

right AND this was after the disaster in ATL and smith and zeke already gone..the damage was done and no coincidence it was also in an unfair and untypical schedule where a team plays on a sunday Night than a day game the next Thursday and than again the next Thursday..it was a rough 3 game stretch, there are real reasons Dak regressed, not excuses..this was tough on a young QB that didnt have much help from his coaches to take some pressure off him when all this was going on.. more times than not we did see flashes of 2016 Dak ,everyone remembers the last 1/4 of the season but really if the defense didnt take dump b2b against GB and The rams we dropped 30plus points on them only to lose we would have started the season 4-1 maybe 6-2 at the break but again bad coaching and just odd things happened..during that stretch we looked like 2016 expect maybe Lee going down and they used that as an excuse for the defense..

in short many factors outside of Dak caused the entire team, mostly the offense to suffer and just fall on their faces..you cant just lay it all on Dak..

Dak Completion Rate on 20+ yard passes in 2017:
Target Butler 6 of 9

Target Dez 4 of 19

We have one formula on offense and that is to be a bully offense whose philosophy is to grind it out and control the ball and run first.

Our star rb is out. Tyron smith is injured and our Oline doesn't look anything like the prior year.

Our schemes are the most predictable known to man. Not only does opposing teams call out our schemes, but players on our OWN team and former players, including Tony Romo call them out.

During all that time, no real adjustments were made. Why did the team constantly melt down during the second half of games?

Is anyone surprised the offense looked like utter garbage?

Dumb question. If you are a regular on this Forum, you already know what happened. If you are playing dumb, then it's only because you have some agenda to push. EVERY SERIOUS FAN knows what happened last year. It's insulting to the rest of us to pretend you don't.

I'm not biting on your troll bait.
Cool your Jets Jumbo its a liable question other wise why was there so much disagreement right here among the zoners.
