Aren't both Jones and Ramsey FS types ?
Maybe if they take him at 4 (big if) he would play his first year at CB as opposed to safety. Similar to what they just did with Jones. Also fills 2 positions instead of 1.

If we got Ramsey we would have so many options, throw in Jenkins or Trumaine in free agency our secondary would look pretty darn strong

If Ramsey is the pick it will be because they think he can play CB
Just don't see using back to back first rnd picks on safeties myself
Not to mention if Carr and mo go we will be mighty thin st CB

What's it going to be then, eh?

If they take Ramsey they are likely to talk themselves into he's good at whatever position Jones is not slotted for.

I didn't really see anything either way that screamed FS to me.

He could also fill a huge hole at CB and we could buy a proven FS like Weddle or Gipson.

The money saved on Carr and Church is over 13m.

That could pay for Weddle, Fairley and Trevathan

Watch him cover TEs. His struggles paralleled his move away from that responsibility.

Gimme stud safeties and a great pass rush and I'll be happy with Jacques Reeves and Alan Ball at CB

This have been the problem for quite some time. The Cowboys want to make the decisions for the players.

Cowboys shouldnt be leaning towards anything. Byron Jones should tell the Cowboys that he feels like he is better suited playing safety (if he wants to)

I'm glad he's moving to safety. I liked church but he's not the answer. Scandrick back will also help corner position. I'm curious to see if we really do go Ramsey or jack or somewhere else. If we take Ramsey could be how Seahawks made moves in secondary

Jones should remain at safety.

No to Ramsey. That fourth pick should go on a QB or trade down if the opportunity presents itself.

Find your DBs in the later rounds of the draft and/or sign solid but affordable free agent CBs.

I have no problem with Byron being a free safety...he's got the athletic skills...you have to be smart, ballhawking and a sure tackler like the guy in my avatar though.

Then fans like you would complain that they let the players dictate things.
