And what happens if he lights it up?
Tell me how he lights it up with this current roster, if you can make that make sense i will agree with you. The only thing changing is your bringing in Daniel Jones to play QB...Im all ears.

I mean they could at least attempt to. Jones might be able to play and he has a star WR.

They should have at least tried but the Jones' are not only cheap but also seem to be incredibly lazy at their jobs
They have no reason to try and win games this year.

If you think picking 5th vs picking 10th is the difference in turning around this franchise you have no idea what you're talking about.
You couldn’t be more wrong. You’ll pick in the top 5 every round. Lots more capital to trade back and pick up additional picks the following draft. You proved your knowledge of the game with “I don’t care how many w/l we have this year.” You’re that participation trophy fan.

I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to bring him in at all. We have a QB with a monster contract already. Even if Danny Dimes comes in and turns into Tom Brady, we wouldn't be able to sign him and we couldn't rid of Dak. No sense at all to bring him in.

then this FO will probably do it....none of the moves they have made make sense. two 4th round picks gone for no reason, HC still here...signed the QB at the worst possible time (dont care if you like or dont like Dak) you dont wait then sign him to that money...now that i think about it Danny will be here in a couple of hours...lord help us.

Yeah I don't think so. Show me any correlation between a team picking top 5 and winning championships. Carolina, NY, Cleveland, etc draft high regularly and dont turn it around. Meanwhile KC/SF draft high year after year and continue to go to superbowls. Seeing this team win a couple games while players like Overshown, Guyton, Beebe, etc improve and become legitimate NFL caliber starters wouldnt be the worst thing to happen to this team.

The last time the Cowboys picked top 5 they wasted their first two picks on a RB at #4 and a LB who was damaged goods. Counting on Jerry to trade back just because he is picking high is a bad bet. Honestly a top pick Jerry probably uses on either another RB or Sanders.

Ultimately wins and losses dont mean much of anything rest of season. The most important piece that can happen right now is player development from the last couple of draft classes. Thats the only chance this team has at being competitive in 2025.

Feel free to continue to insult my knowledge of the game and call me a participation trophy fan, but honestly I have zero respect for your narrow minded opinions.

The Giants, who are one of the worst teams in the NFL, just cut him. Bringing him in, in no way improves this team. Is he better than Rush? Sure, but that's really not saying much. Is he so much better that he would help us win games. No. Is it really help for us at this point to win games? Probably not. In addition, he would have to learn the offense, that would take at least a few weeks. So we are looking at probably week 15-16 at the earliest that he could reasonable start and even that is a stretch. He would have no chemistry with any of the players. There is just no real reason to sign Jones, at least for this season.

Now, if he wants to sign a multi-year deal to be a backup for next season and on? I think that would be great...It might cause a bit of a QB controversy at times. But I think he'd rather take his chances somewhere where he'd have a better chance of having a starting position, like Oakland, than signing here under those circumstances.

I'm with Ed Werder. Why is this a thing?

The Cowboys are in tank mode. The coach runs a 20yr old offense. Daniel Jones wants to go somewhere to revive his career like Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on
@SASportsStar
that they have no interest in adding former Giants QB Daniel Jones. “No, I think we’re in good shape at our quarterback spot. We think Cooper (Rush) gives us the best chance to win right now. And certainly we still want to see some. We’ll kind of see how the season goes here. We still really want to see (Trey) Lance and like what he brings to the table. And then, of course, long term, we all know we made our commitment to Dak (Prescott) for the long term.”

Rush better than Danny Dimes
Zeke better than King Henry

We could get a comp pick for him. If he can play well the rest of the season, there's a chance we get a pick for him if he signs elsewhere.

Everyone knows he is garbage, but the hes better garbage than the garbage currently on the active roster.
He’s certainly better than what the Cowboys currently have. But the player has no incentive to sign here.

And for what? To possibly win a game or two just to screw up your draft picks?

No.

Take your well-deserved lumps and high draft picks.

Good one.

The Cowboys are notorious for drafting a kid and repositioning him.

Sometimes it ends up forcing a square peg into a round hole.
Tried telling someone that and they act like they never saw us do this
