The Giants, who are one of the worst teams in the NFL, just cut him. Bringing him in, in no way improves this team. Is he better than Rush? Sure, but that's really not saying much. Is he so much better that he would help us win games. No.
Here is the bigger question...

With our offense the way it stands this year overall with all positions included, is there ANY QB that would actually help the cowboys on a weekly basis where you could see the difference?

I don't live in Texas as get to follow all the games on TV where I live, but prior to the Green Bay playoff game last year, who ever would have thought that the cowboys would have regressed as a team like they have this year in 2024?

I NEVER saw it coming

Looking at our division

Offensive ranking in the NFL
Eagles 14th in 2023. Currently 5th in 2024
Cowboys 12th in 2023. Currently 27th in 2024

Defensive ranking in the NFL
Eagles 26th in 2023. Currently 1st in 2024 (couldn't believe that)
Cowboys 5th in 2023. Currently 27th in 2024.

What one man on the Cowboys team is going to change that? (that's why this year is NOT only on Dak).

EVERYONE knew the Eagles secondary absolutely positively sucked last year. You KNEW people would pass all over them. One year later? Ranked 2nd in the NFL for pass defense? Give them credit, they knew their weakness, apparently had a plan, and they addressed it.

I'm using a Jerry phrase at work now. Had a meeting, email went out looking at something we went over, and the question was asked our opinion on how we wanted to proceed. My exact quote via a work email was "like Jerry Jones, I'm all in!" (I left Zeke out of it LOL)

Sooner or later, someone is going to pass the cowboys as the NFL's "richest" team. That's when Jerry is going to roll over in his grave if he isn't alive by that time.

It was never JUST Dak that was holding this team back but as the highest profile position and the highest paid player in NFL history the spotlight is on you and the expectation is for you to do more with less. And he clearly didn't. Also, I don't know what McCarthy was trying to do with this offense in the off-season, if it was his plan to turn it into the most 1950's looking, bland, boring, unimaginative garbage offense in the NFL today, then he succeeded. But that also isn't helping things.

Of course they were interested. Lol. They put this out there only after the deal fell threw. Probably medical related. This front office sucks. Glad it fell through. Nobody here actually believes his name would appear on the team website by accident, do ya?

Football is a team sport. What is it, a 55 man roster?

End of the day, players have to "click" with each other along with the head coach and the coaches below him.

I'm not a billionaire, but perhaps Jerry Jones knows something I don't.

I see a man (JJ's) having the money to buy a team, but not realize the basics of people working with each other to make themselves better.

JJ seems to look for the headlines, and he likes to talk, but at the end of the day, hire people more smarter than you on what you don't know and stay out of their way IMO.

This is no different than the business I'm in.

I think he will cost too much for Dallas, even if he was released by the Giants. But if not for that, I would talk to him. He would make a better backup to Dak than Rush or Lance.

Jones will have to clear waivers and cannot be signed to a new contract until after 4pm Monday. If a team was moronic to make a waiver claim then they would assume the risk of the injury guarantee of $23M in 2025. I could see a playoff bound team picking him up after Monday as bit of an insurance policy and if I was his agent that is what I would suggest.

He might even beat out Dak in this system.
He can run and has better arm.
